Two B1G teams early favorites for next year...3. MSU and 4. Ohio State.
I'm not complaining, but I would think Ohio State would be a bit lower finishing the season with two losses.
Florida State brings back an NFL-caliber QB and likely takes minimal hits in the early NFL departure department. So the national champs start out (and likely finish?) No. 1.

If I were an Iowa fan, I would be ticked. No offense Iowa fans, but I think this says a lot about your coach...

Kirk Ferentz says Iowa might never return a punt again: http://cbsprt.co/IowaPunts.

Fill in the blank: That strategy would be ____________.

A guy at my local coffee shop told this to a lady who asked if they were as good as starbucks: "Starbucks is good if don't want to taste coffee or if you want a teddy bear drawn on the side of you mountain of whipped cream. As for me, I like coffee, so I don't go there."

Desert and cream are good there, coffee sucks. They don't come with that thick foamy "crema" I love. A cafe filter can do just as good B-)

All of the griefers in Alabama can say what they want, I don't think this has anything to do with player safety. Trying to slow the game down to accomplish less plays? Shoot, why don't we just completely get rid of the fourth quarter? Under the same logic, that would eliminate even more injuries! I know this subject is getting beat into the ground but as long as Saban is still whining about this, it'll continue to be in the headlines. The only way up-tempo offenses are like cigarettes is that they are both hard to overcome. That's what this is really about.
Nick Saban says he doesn't care about being blamed for the 10-second rule proposal, and compares running more plays to smoking more cigarettes.

What do you think? I think it's a terrible idea...you're taking away a significant aspect and strategy of the game (hurry-up/no huddle offense). It's ridiculous...

The NCAA wants to ban snaps in the first 10 seconds of the 40-second play clock. This would allow defenses to make more substitutions.

Do you LIKE, LOVE, or LOATHE the proposed rule change?
The NCAA Football Rules Committee has proposed rule changes to the way targeting is enforced on the field, and also a 10-second period for defenses to substitute players.

Our first 2014 College Football Power Poll is out:
1. Florida State 2. Auburn 3. Michigan State 4. Ohio State 5. Oregon

Who else deserves to be in the top 5?

Fans from up north, just curious what your take is on this.
Brian Kelly doesn't seem too shaken up about losing the Michigan series, but does he doth protest too much?

I kind of see what Kelly is saying... I thought it was silly at first, but now that I read it again I kind of agree. He says it's not a "historical" or "traditional" rivalry. Compared to Ohio State and Michigan State, Notre Dame doesn't have the history that the others have. I heard Hoke's comments on this and he never once defended it as a historic rivalry, he just stated that Notre Dame always provides good football game that is loved by America and he doesn't understand why Notre Dame is chickening out. Undoubtedly it is a modern rivalry, but comparatively, it isn't historical. I still think Kelly is a pansy for withdrawing from it though.

I think the state of Florida still has a jealousy-induced obsession with Urban...a compliance guy operated under standard procedure, and this is what I turns into. I love it.
