Singing and playing guitar is a great passion of mine. I started at an early age and had the opportunity to travel extensively in return. It was not until I started college did I realize my passion for understanding society and politics.
My second semester at Tarleton State University I was offered the job as student representative in the International Programs office. Through this position I was given the opportunity to meet people from across the globe and gain knowledge about their culture. I soon began to realize my desire to travel and was finally granted the opportunity to participate in social research in Belize. This trip opened my eyes about government systems and social issues.
I currently serve as a student mentor for Student Success and Multicultural Initiatives. I work with first year students from low-socioeconomic status and the at -risk student body. My services include informing students of the resources available and coaching them in their study skills and time management.
Upon graduation I want to pursue international relations. I am eagerly seeking positions with great promise and opportunities to make a difference.
