Vernissage am 24. Juni 2014, 19:00 Uhr

I have brilliant news:

From now on a selection of my pictures from Haiti can be ordered online at photocircle.net. And the best thing about it is: ordering also supports LESPWA e.V.:
http://www.photocircle.net/en/artists/1244/frank-domahs

LESPWA is a non-profit organization that has been taking care of Children in the slums of Port-au-Prince for more than 15 years.

+PHOTOCIRCLE  is a development stage portal, that has already gained a great deal of attention in the media. I'm glad to announce that my cooperation with Photocircle will greatly support the work of +LESPWA  and the children of Port-au-Prince.

This project you can support:

Project Goals
By supporting this project you help giving street kids from Haiti's worst slums the possibility to visit the world outside of their misery. For many of them it is the first time they see untouched nature, clean water and that there is a future worth living for. These excursions give kids the proper motivation to study in order to secure a self-determined life for themselves.

With 800€ we give 600 children the possibilty to go on this daytrip.

Project details
After shocking experiences during her first time in Haiti in 1997, Dr. Barbara Höfler decided to work as a doctor for Haitian street children after her retirement. After one year of preparation she started her work in a street children project of the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1998.

The suffering of the children and young adults on the streets of the slums in Haiti is hard to imagine for us Europeans – they do not own more than the T-shirt they are wearing, and a pair of shorts or a skirt. There is no water for drinking or washing and they often sleep in the dirt of the streets. These are also the living conditions for street girls, who often become mothers at a very early age, and their babies.

With LESPWA these children start to regain self-respect – a small step for a decent life!

By supporting this project you enable children that are growing up in the most horrific slum in Haiti, Site Solèy, to see another part of the world before they start elementary school. Many of these kids don’t even know that there is a world beyond open sewers, garbage piles and makeshift shacks. These kids get to see – often for the first time in their life – clean spring water, unspoiled nature, healthy animals such as donkeys, horses, sheep and cows.

With your help LESPWA can take 600 children on an excursion using old school busses from the US that they will never forget.

They will have an unforgettable experience and see that there is a possibility for a better life. This gives them the drive to learn and study so that one day they can hopefully escape the misery that they live in at the moment.
