I was conflicted by my time in Belize. It's an interesting and beautiful country, but is seriously hard to recommend to budget travellers. Here's why.

Continuing on my theme of writing about interesting things I did six months ago (and apparently, also including twenty photos or so...)

We'd spent a few days in Belize, and decided to hop the border for a couple of nights to visit Tikal in Guatemala. There were plenty of overpriced bus tours that will take you there and back in a day, so you can miss all the best bits and pay a fortune for the privilege.
So yeah, we didn't do that.
