If you ever felt like getting flavors exploding in your mouth while looking at desserts, you've come to the right place! This place is always hectic. It's always a rush in here, but the food is fantastic. LA has always been a great place to get virtually any sort of food you're looking for, but this is the place where you can really sink your teeth into some good food. I recommend the pizzas. They're thin, light, and honestly, not what you'd expect from a regular pizza. If you're not on a diet, binge on desserts here. they're great. If you're on a diet, come here on cheat day. It's worth it. If you're on a diet and it's not cheat day, stay the hell out of here. You won't leave without sugar in your stomach.

Light-filled dining room and white marble tables add to the ambience of this downtown gem. I've only been here for brunch but all of my Italian tapas dreams originate here. Waiting times can be long during peak hours so grab something from the bakery if your patience is anything like mine.

This is a solid place for so many reasons. You could come for a date, business meeting, solitary meal (and not feel lonely), girlfriend catchup, etc. It's such a versatile environment that offers amazing food, at really really reasonable prices. My friend and I ordered the Ceviche (who knew Italians could make Ceviche?!) and eggplant parmesan to start. Then I had the tagliatelle bolognese, which was so full of flavor yet felt so light. Don't expect lots of gratuitous sauce, but do expect perfect textures and flavorings. Everything I ate was wonderful, and service was top notch. I was even offered a taste of one of the wines after asking how sweet it was, which was unexpected. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The modern classic of downtown. With a high end bakery in front, a large take out section, and a beautiful bar, this old bank building has been turned into one of the loudest and most popular dining destinations in the city. With a wide selection of finger foods, salads, pizzas and pastas, the cuisine is an amalgamation of California meets European gastromie. That's not saying it's a gastro pub, or even a gastronomical marvel - these are safe, classic dishes prepared well. Bring earplugs or get ready to leave with a horse voice, as the glass walls and marble floors will have conversations floating in and out of your ear.

I always have so much fun at this place. Super loud. Super high-energy. Always jam-packed with people. Have a drink a browse the immaculate and intricate pastries/deserts/macaroons while you wait.

OUR EXPERIENCE AT LOUIE WAS SIMILAR TO OTHERS. WE HAD A CAPRICE SALAD, PORTABELLA FRIES, PORK CHOP, CIOPPINO AND CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE. ALL THE DISHES WERE GOOD AND PREPARED PROPERLY (WE'VE HAD BETTER CAPRICE, BUT THAT'S NOT HARD TO FIND BACK IN THE NORTH EAST) OUR WAITER, BILL, WAS ATTENTIVE WHICH WAS SURPRISING BASED ON THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER CALI SERVERS WE'VE ENCOUNTERED ON OUR 10 DAY TRIP. THEY ALSO HAD A SUPPORT STAFF RUNNING AROUND WITH CARAFES OF WATER SO WE WERE NEVER SHORT. IM GLAD I ORDERED THE SOUFFLE DESPITE MY GIRLFRIENDS REQUEST FOR THE MACARONS BECAUSE SHE LOVED THE CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE, BOUGHT 8 MACARONS AND HATED THEM. I DIDN'T LIKE THEM EITHER BUT THE LEMON WAS THE BEST AND THE ROSE ...WELL IT WAS LIKE THOSE LITTLE SMELLY SOAPS THAT SIT IN THE DISH IN YOUR GRANDMOTHERS BATHROOM, JUST IN YOUR MOUTH. OH AND IM USING ALL CAPS BECAUSE YOU'LL NEED TO GET USED TO YELLING ; THIS PLACE IS REALLY LOUD.
