Automatic braking being added to NHTSA’s safety list

Automatic emergency braking technology includes two systems. These systems apply vehicles’ brakes in situations when motorists have not taken action to avoid rear-end accidents, or when they are not applying sufficient braking. Beginning with model year 2018 vehicles, the NHTSA will add AEB technology to its recommended safety list.
