Baen Books just published my article on the history of NASA's Mission Operations Computer: a machine with the power of a modern wristwatch that enabled us to fly to the moon. I also describe how a newbie (me) could, with the press of a button, accidentally crash the entire Mission Control Center at a most inopportune time.

I flew Space Shuttles from Mission Control; why is it harder to configure my A/V receiver?

My latest article is online: "Rendezvous and Docking: A Guide for Non Rocket Scientists." If you want to see what I used to do for a living, check it out. (Don't forget to "Like" if you, y'know, like it.)

Over eighty degrees today! The electric blanket comes off tonight! (Yes, I'm serious. And don't laugh--it's the first time in almost two years.)

Spring weather observations from places I've lived:

Indiana: "Wow, what a beautiful day!"
Houston: "Hey, it's not quite as hot today!"
Seattle: "Well, at least it isn't raining."

NaNoWriMo is over, but we seem to be in NaWriNoWhiSitYoCaWiBaLiOn: National Write a Novel While Sitting in Your Car With the Backup Lights On. Preferably in a crowded shopping center parking lot.

Story
Tagline
Former NASA Mission Controller, aerospace consultant, now full-time writer. Or maybe unemployed.
Introduction
You found me! Former NASA mission controller, computer game designer, aerospace consultant, and writer. I'm back to doing game development (for the Android operating system) and writing.

Just finished revision 4 of my hard science fiction novel "Miner Misfortunes" (now in submission!) and I'm getting close to release of my first Android game for tablets and smartphones.

You can follow me on Twitter (@ExNASATerry), Facebook (boo), or my website: www.terryburlison.com

Thanks for stopping by!
Bragging rights
Well, I worked in NASA's Mission Control Center during the early days of the Shuttle program. Pretty cool gig. Then I wrote "Search & Destroy," published by Broderbund Software. Later, I started my own software company to produce music (guitar/banjo) and game software. I got back in the aerospace game as a private consultant for several years. Currently back doing game development (for Android) and writing. I've published several short stories and articles and I'm finishing the latest revision on my first novel and plotting out my second.

Aka, Jerry's Little Car Shop. I've going to Jerry for about 25 years. I wouldn't let anyone else touch my vintage Rx7. I've heard from others he's one of (if not the) best Rx mechanics in the United States. I believe it.
