I struggle with the scale as a shorty (5'2") because I feel like I should be somewhere in the 120's and I know there is NO WAY that will happen, like ever. My lowest weight in recent years was 152 and I worked HARD to get there and the minute I slacked off just a little it all came back. Granted, I know a whole lot more about working out and eating the right way now but still. I try to not compare myself with unrealistic ideals. I think you have one of best and healthiest attitudes towards your journey and I truly love reading your blog!! Side not OMG Elle Noel commented on your blog!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe!!!

Awwww..Karri it is okay to admit that you have a problem (step one!) and that you have a plan to help (step 2!). I agree there are good principles in Carb Cycling but like you if I want a tortilla to wrap my turkey taco in on a low carb day it makes me want to eat 3 tortillas and then follow it up with a dougnut or two or three just for kicks. You are not alone in this struggle. Thanks for your brutal honesty!

I am foreseeing difficulty for me and my 5th meal as well. Trying really hard to fit the meals into my teaching/work out schedule is going to be a challenge.

Yes!! That is how I feel about "clean" eating. I think moderation in everything is the key. I just can't give up entire food groups because they may be more processed that fruits and vegetables. I need easy and tasty in my life on a daily basis. If you want some pizza have a slice (or two), eat a handful of Hershey kisses and savor each one.

After my first half marathon I was in the bathroom all.day.long..I think it's a combination of the exercise, the sports drinks, and hydrating afterwards. I can't do gels-they set my stomach off in a really bad too. My preferred fuel is the caffeine free Clif Blocks in black cherry or the honey stinger bites in fruit punch, but always make sure they don't have caffeine.
