So true. So true.
A new study from Yale University revealed that people who worry about GMOs and vaccines have pretty damn good lives. The study surveyed over 5,000 Americans and discovered an inverse correlation between those who worried about these issues and those who had serious problems in their lives.

Huh, funny. From my stream, I thought the anti-science folks had moved on from vaccines to glyphosphate being the root of all disease, especially autism

Whoa. I wonder if Patrick Colbeck understands that it's quite possible to have respect for law enforcement officers and the work they do and at the same time understand that there are too many bad apples, about which something has to be done. Colbeck has no idea what "driving while black" is like or why there is so much anger because he comes from a white, privileged background and never had to worry about whether an encounter with the police over a minor matter might result in his death. I know, because I came from the same sort of privileged background. The difference is, I tried to learn; Colbeck does not. And even then it took me until i was in my 40s to start to get a glimmer of understanding.

Motley Crue? Seriously? An entertaining band? Sort of? Hall of Fame material? No way. Popularity alone is not reason enough to be in the Hall of Fame. There's lots of crap that's extremely popular. Motley Crue isn't crap, but it isn't Hall of Fame material.

Jethro Tull is by far the biggest snub. Prog rock would be very different if Jethro Tull had never existed.

Tell us something we don't already know out there. I'm living this right now, with my lab hanging on by its teeth, so to speak.

The federal budget for bioscience has undergone big swings since 2000. Some scientists are now out of work and others are abandoning the ambitious, creative ideas that fuel discovery.
