You've decided it's time to use the power of the human touch and connect one-on-one with your prospects and customers. Perhaps you've previously done some informal telemarketing. You've asked a few administrative assistants to make calls on an as-needed basis. However, this option may not have worked for you because you were not able to put the correct systems, training, people and processes in place. It ended up being expensive, time-consuming and ineffective.
This is the inside-sales versus the outsourced telemarketing question.  RIO is the key.  Read our Sabrina Ferraioli's blog post on 3D2B to see our calulations here http://3d2b.com/blog/tele-services/how-to-calculate-roi-of-b2b-telemarketing.html.

Do you want to increase your conversion rates by 355%? Of course you do. What’s the secret? Well, according to a study by Jupiter Research, companies that segment their databases increase their conversion rates on average by 355%. It makes sense. Since your prospects and clients don’t all have the same problems and needs, you can’t expect a broad message to appeal to your entire database. Sales acceleration… it’s the new buzzword. It’s all about shortening the sales cycle and closing more and bigger deals. When people talk about sales acceleration, they tend to think of technology—sales automation and the ability to manage and visualize data. But according to an article by Ken Krogue of InsideSales.com, this up-to-the-minute technology is adding muscle to one conventional marketing tool that’s proven to be indispensable in shortening sales cycles. What is this amazing tool? Drum roll, please… it’s a phone. Read all about it here at http://www.noobpreneur.com/2014/11/18/one-tool-proven-shorten-b2b-sales-cycle/

“If you build it, he will come” was the message that made “Field of Dreams” a great movie, but it is not a smart event recruitment strategy. Too often, organizers of trade shows, conferences, seminars and webinars focus on “day of” event details, overlooking smart pre-marketing. But if an event is going to generate good leads, conversion and ROI, enough of your best prospective clients need to attend. - See more at: http://www.bizpenguin.com/5-event-recruitment-steps-to-good-attendance-and-roi-2629/#sthash.pmYLSd5V.dpuf

Is it a sales funnel or is it really a pyramid? There’s a problem with the sales funnel. Just because you fill it with leads, sales won’t naturally fall out of the bottom. Thus, the danger of sticking with the funnel analogy is that you could fill the top of the funnel endlessly with leads without achieving your desired sales results. You can’t have a laissez faire strategy. You need a defined process to manage leads, hold their hands as they climb the pyramid and transform them into sales. “Success is where preparation and opportunity meet,” said Bobby Unser, who is one of the ten drivers to win the Indianapolis 500 three or more times. His words not only apply to finishing first on a racetrack, but also to sales people who strive for first-place results in cold calling.
So, how do you prepare for success? Start with these cold calling tips.
