Managing, grouping, circling contacts/friends/people isn't fun. There IS benefit from the Circles, but is it worth the upfront and ongoing cost?

I'm liking it. It's as if I get a do-over on the whole social networking thing. The up-front investment is worth it and the clean slate feels refreshing. I've been drifting away from the social bloat of FB and utilizing more niche networks lately for elective broadcasting. This theoretically centralizes it. Then again, it's only day two.

Google+ reuses a lot of their mobile web UI to decent effect. Web still not as smooth as native, however.

Notifications keep prompting me to acknowledge people circling me, so I try to circle some of them. Bit it's still awkward. I feel like I have to categorize people, but people really defy categorization. The first interaction with another person just continues to feel off. I don't want to come back and refine and fix the first categorization. So, the more people I've added the more messy the circles get.

I'm with you Albert, it's more about categorizing followers than friends. Is it any surprise that we are uncomfortable with an asymmetrical circle? I agree with Mike above...i'm thinking about circles more like channels to whom I can narrowcast thoughts and ideas, as opposed to facebook, where I really don't feel compelled to share niche content to a mass and diverse audience of friends and colleagues....

So far, all my posts on Google+ have been about Google+. Right now, it's a 80/20 ratio of all posts are about the service itself.
