And in small news today...

Is this how the end begins?

Is anyone working on the PiBox (or PiTin), the "berry-flavored open source game console"?

If the original claim is true, the claim by Update 2 seems less likely.

If it is an attempt at fraud, why make it so obvious? If this was doable, what other (less visible) attempts have been made?

If it's a mistake, man or machine, how common of an occurrence is it, and how does it affect voters who won't question authority?

Are there independent monitors that check these machines? (Or do we just send them to liberated country elections?)

Should have just gone with Jill Stein and there would have been no issue.

Today's Google doodle is the most fun I've had all day. And what an apt prologue to the start of hockey season.

Angry Birds was fun, but Angry Birds Star Wars is crack.

I wanted to see it with my own eyes, so I took a couple of screenshots on an iPhone 5 yesterday. The left one is Apple Maps and the right one is Google Maps in Mobile Safari. Then I added an outline to a road for reference.
The left hand map has the town of Mildura only about 50 mi off to the SSW, but in a scenic area of salt lakes in a national park...

There have been some other articles since, explaining how this came to be, and they do a pretty good job of highlighting what was so wrong with Apple's mapping process in the first place.

Or shouldnt call it "amazing". Maps is all about time. In order to have all the labels in it - it takes time to put all this in and they can't pull those magically from their asses. It should be usage and data mining factored. now ppl dont use it and they cant really debug it properly. Whatever. I am still on iOS 5, not going to upgrade for a while. Which brings me to an idea - if I won't upgrade, maybe I should jailbreak it, to see what's up with that :)

While I see the operative word here being "exploring", the follow up question might be: will Intel now pursue their own desktop/mobile/hybrid platform to keep their profit levels?

Moblin/MeeGo/Tizen...

Apple may dump Intel chips, use own design for ARM-based processors - report.

+Bloomberg News reports that Apple is planning to drop Intel as a supplier for desktop and laptop chips in favor of Apple-designed ARM processors.

Or, they will invest more in the Android and Windows ecosystems.  We already have an Intel based phone (Motorola RAZR i), plus Windows 8 tablets are on their way in.  I don't think this should affect them too much, but it is certainly a blow.

2 for the food, 3 for the prices, 4 for the service. Overly salty and not very authentic-tasting. Decent prices and friendly staff almost made up for it. Didn't get a margarita pitcher which might've helped.
