Why on earth would Gjelina change a great, classic sandwich, their pork meatball sub, to a pork meatball on a soft bun? The contrast between their wonderfully crisp baguette and the softer meatballs made for a wonderful sandwich. They should call their new version the mush burger. The meatballs are wonderful, and fortunately unchanged, but the soft bun does nothing for the sandwich. Sometimes change for changes sake is not an improvement. I hope the chef realizes it, or enough people complain. and they go back to the original, or at least give they paying public a choice. There's nothing more frustrating then being told they can't make it when you're staring at baskets full of baguettes. My guess is they'll probably take it off the menu with the logic that nobody orders it anymore.

Everything was done with great care - simple, clear flavours very well executed. We had a great table in a little nook, attentive and knowledgeable service.

Huge menu with something for everyone any meal of the day. Highlights are seasonal/rarer vegetables prepared in innovative ways. Equally appropriate to do a simple pizza-and-wine dinner or a more elaborate one with a bunch of shared small plates.

This place was really good! My family loved the food. No complaints at all. The decor of the restaurant was also great. I recommend this place for sure!

Really amazing food with a great atmosphere make this LA tradition a keeper. The food is inventive and always delicious while being playful with its ingredients and preparation. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all equally delicious at this place and Abbot Kinney beckons to you after your amazing meal which can greatly help you walk off the extra weight that can be the consequence of delicious food.

One of the hippest spots in Venice. Go to the take out spot, pet some dogs, and sit on a milk cart. When one of us is going on a trip out of town, my friends and I go here as a sending off. It's definitely an LA experience.

This place is AWSOME. Small plate share. The roasted peach and Prosciutto ham was amazing The Egg plant on top of sourdough was also as good. Best drink Ginger honey line Pilsner beer

This is my 3rd favorite restaurant in LA. I went for the pizza because, I'm on a quest for the best dough in LA. I'm not a fan of the "burnt crust" movement but it was the right texture and flavor.
