This place offers some of the best burgers in the city! Tried their SmokeShack burger which was filled with applewood smoked bacon and cherry peppers. It had the right amount of kick to the burger and just the right sauce to top it off. Their fried on the otherhand are crinkled and taste better than your average fast food chain. If you plan on staying to eat, the dining are is in the outside and your gonna expect a lot of people just sitting and dinning. The only thing I disliked it the long lines. But understandable at this is the 1st Shake Shack that opened.

As burgers go, these are good but not great. They're about on par with an upper level chain like Five Guys. Good, but nothing to write home about. However, they are considerably smaller than you'll expect. They are just one notch above 'slider' size. There is usually a line but it's not that bad, it moves quickly and use a pager system so you can sit down after you order. Go during good weather and enjoy the park and views of the Flatiron building.

Okay burgers, fries, and shakes in an outdoor setting. The cheese fries are the perfect combination of greasy, heavy, yet delicious and everything else falls into the okay category. The outdoor madison square park setting with the heat lamp has some draw and there is always a long, yet decently fast moving, line. This is a place favorited by people who haven't tasted burgers at places like BRGR, Bareburger, or Whitman's.

All natural angus, no hormones or antibiotics. In a world of super sizes and large portions, it's refreshing to see smaller burgers. The ingredients were really fresh. Great buns. Awesome crispy fries. But I'm giving them only three stars because their Saturday custard special, Mud Pie, wasn't ready. Luckily, we got there on Saturday at 11:55am when the wait was 20 minutes to order and another 10 minutes for the food. By the time we finished with our meal, the line was more than twice as long.

I've have great burgers before, and this is definitely one that needs no introduction! Located in the lower part of Madison Square Park, this outdoor burger joint is a must-see for visitors who come to NYC. Where the West Coast has their In & Out Burger, the East Coast has Shake Shake, and I wouldn't have it any other way! It's the yin and yang of burgers, if you will. Not only are the shakes sublime, the burgers made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection and their crinkle-cut fries delicious - but you don't feel super heavy and lethargic after eating there. Plus, the backdrop of Madison Square Park is perfect for a nice day! However, depending on the time of day, expect lines of epic proportions. That's why people in the "know" know how to utilize the 'Shack Cam' - an online camera that let's you monitor the line length from wherever you are. Trust me, it's a great invention! ;) If you're a burger fanatic, this should definitely make your Top 10 list!

There aren't many things I would wait in line for. Shake shack is worth the wait. You can also just check the webcam on their site to see how long the line is. Service is pretty slow as well but that's because they deal with a lot of volume. The burgers are really tasty and possibly the best in NYC (under $10). I don't go to shake shack that often so when I do, I do it big. I get the shack stack (burger with a cheese stuffed mushroom on top of the burger patty), fries, and a chocolate malt shake. My mouth is watering just thinking about it lol. You really can't go wrong with this place so I highly recommend you check it out.
