Following a period of close strategic partnership, on 1 June 2017, Dantherm officially acquired the activities in Water Surveillance.

Water Surveillance is located in Sorø, Denmark and is a privately owned company that was established in November 2013 with investment capital from CAPNOVA and Accelerace. Water Surveillance is an ‘Internet of things’ company that focuses on optimising its customers’ operating earnings by wirelessly collecting essential data within the area of damage services, and making this data available online in real time on assorted user interfaces. By doing so, significant advantages can be reaped thanks to the faster and more efficient repair of moisture and water damage, in combination with Dantherm’s mobile dehumidifiers.

“There is a rising demand in the market for remote monitoring, and we see our acquisition of Water Surveillance as a unique opportunity to offer our customers this service. By combining the technology from Water Surveillance with Dantherm’s wide product programme within the area of dehumidification, heating, cooling and ventilation, we will become an even stronger partner for our current and future customers,” states Torben Duer, Managing Director of the Dantherm Group A/S.

The first machine which has been developed and designed in collaboration between Calorex and Dantherm will be unveiled at this year’s Executive Hire Show. The ACT-7 air-conditioner, which will be released later this year, is primarily designed for the small scale commercial temporary cooling market, and has a cooling capacity of 7kW.

Differing from more common air-cooled units, which due to the high room ventilation gains they create are generally used for spot cooling, this unique water cooled product will provide whole room cooling without the need to continually exhaust internal air.

As an additional bonus, the unit does not require an exhaust air duct to an outside wall. The ACT-7 is supplied complete with a heat reject unit that can be sited up to 30m away from the internal unit and is interconnected by two 22mm flexible, quick connect water pipes.

A POOL WITH A VIEW AND THE MIDAS TOUCH

Newton Abbot pool specialists, Westcountry Leisure, struck gold at the British Pool & Hot Tub Awards 2017, hosted by BISHTA and SPATA, with this magnificent pool in Devon. Built on the side of the cliff overlooking a bay in the Salcombe estuary, the pool is fully loaded with Certikin and Calorex equipment.

Brief: The client, a keen swimmer, wanted a pool for all year round use with a deep swimming lane plus a shallow end for his children. The large linear pool had to sit within the confines of the area to the back of the house and embrace its mature and natural surroundings – namely, the extensive gardens, the breath-taking sea view and the seagull-nesting cliffs.

Installation: Using a terrace where a large ornamental pond was sited, the pool is an impressive 22m in length to compliment the surrounding architectural features. The 5m wide pool (with 1.5m shallow and 2.2m deep end) required planning permission as it is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the house is Grade II listed. The owners were keen to ensure the project did not have any detrimental impact on the existing building. Westcountry Leisure put together drawings and a specification to satisfy the local authority, which duly granted permission.

CALOREX SUPPLY HOT WATER HEAT PUMPS IN THE COOLEST OF SURROUNDINGS

There are not many hotels in Oman, or maybe the world, that can boast the breath-taking views or luxury surroundings that the Al Baleed offers.

Located in the city of Salalah, the resort lies between a beach and a freshwater lagoon and is a gateway to Oman’s cultural treasures.

With its tranquil location and surrounding beauty, the Al Baleed resort is a big hit with tourists wishing to explore Oman’s interior; but it’s complexity of boasting 96 villas, including 88 private pool properties and three restaurants, further defined by the desire to be accredited as a LEED project, meant a sophisticated, low carbon design was required.
