Went for three days for the 4th celebration. It was good but not too good. The parking is way over priced. The rooms are somehow small. The elevators are Very slow. Location is good.

The location of this hotel just cannot be beat! You are literally ON River Street (to the point that they have an elevator in the lobby that you can take right downstairs and walk right out onto it). The decor in the lobby is nice enough; the rooms are even nicer. Modern, not too dark, nice finishes, the bathrooms are modernized. We upgraded to a river view for $25 and that was nice. There were only a couple of small cons. The parking is valet only and $24 a DAY. (Ouch!) While you at least get "in and out" privileges, it's kind of steep! There is a public garage across the street that's $16, but I don't know if you can go in and out. Also, the river is beautiful, but it can be a bit noisy! I'm okay as long as I have ear plugs, but light sleepers should keep this in mind. Didn't stay long so I can't comment on the indoor pool and fitness center or the VU Lounge (except to say it lives up to its name). Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

Hey Mr. Alex Schultze, Director of Rooms, You are shutting ALL the water off at a 5-star hotel for 3 hours as a function of 'required/routine maintenance'?! And you tell your guest this AFTER they check in for a four day stat at $300 per night by sliding a note under the door the evening BEFORE you are going to do this? Seriously. Wow. And you are apologizing for 'any inconvenience that this MAY cause'? Unfreakingbelievable. Mr. Schultze, you are either a complete and utter moron, or upper management has hung you out to dry. I hope for your sake it is the latter. To be very clear, there is absolutely NOTHING 'routine' or 'required' about shutting the water off for three hours in a five star hotel. Somebody dropped the ball BIG TIME. ANYONE considering staying in a HYATT REGENCY TAKE NOTICE. If Mr. Alex Schultze is the Director of Rooms at your HYATT, you may want to consider staying at different hotel, and particularly NOT a HYATT REGENCY. NEVER AGAIN FOR US. NEVER AGAIN. AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET HOW YOU AND YOUR STAFF CHOSE TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION. TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I taught 'hotel and restaurant' management courses at an accredited university for many years, and oh how I wish that I had this real world story to tell in class Mr. Schultze. What a case study it would have made . . .

A very nice facility but the service is not up to Hyatt's standards. They're good at fixing problems, but not good at preventing them in the first place. - I reserved a room with a King - wasn't available when I got there so they gave me free breakfast. - I turned in laundry on Sunday and asked the front desk twice if I'd receive it back by 5pm that day, and was told yes both times. It hadn't arrived by 6pm so I called laundry services, and was told laundry doesn't go out on Sundays. So I ended up hand washing my own clothes that evening and when my laundry did return on Monday evening, 4 out of 6 items were missing. They waived the laundry fee which was very nice, but again both of these problems shouldn't have happened in the first place. Also, the concierge was not helpful at all and didn't seem interested in helping. All he did was point me towards a city map I'd already been given.

Valet parking is the worst I have experienced by far anywhere. Texting to retrieve car is broken, calling to retrieve car - had to take ticket down then wait 25 minutes the first day. Now over 35 minute with the same issues on day 2. Plus they were rather rude both days.

I have to express my deepest THANKS to Dekisha Hamilton for laying out the red carpet! This was my first trip to Savannah and she blew me away with the customer service. I mentioned to Dekisha that we were in Savannah for a night (June 20th) celebrating my mother's 75th birthday and she really allowed my mother the opportunity to love her 1st visit to the area. We had a river view room which was absolutely amazing and on top of the room with a view Dekisha made arrangements with room service to surprise my mother with a cake (which was a surprise for me as well :-)). I just want to say THANKS to Dekisha you really made my mother's visit special, you were the icing on the cake :-). In addition I want to thank Shade for setting me up with a Hyatt reward member number and providing us an invitation to the Vu for complimentary champagne as well as a discount for purchases. Her customer service was awesome as well and maybe she order the cake....either way Shade and Dekisha did an awesome job at the front desk and being the face for the Hyatt Regency Savannah for our stay. My personal ratings..... Customer Service - 5 Stars Valet Service- 5 Stars Valet Price - 3 Stars - I just hate paying for parking when I am staying at the hotel Location - 5 Stars Housekeeping - 3 Stars - Windows had finger prints, needed dusting, bath decor nice Couldn't give the hotel a 5 stars because I think housekeeping could have done a better job of preparing the room for the next guest. (You get what you pay for..)

St. Patrick's Day in Savannah is a must do. Though the hotel is centrally located to everything, it comes at a cost. You have to have a wrist band to be inside the hotel. You get two free for your room, any wrist bands after that are $35. So if you have 4 in your room it will cost you $70/night or something ridiculous like that. We have a big group staying at different hotels, they're not allowed in, we have to go out to meet up with them. Supposedly this cuts down on noise and partying, but I thought that's what all the security guards are for? It's more like a price gouge. For as much as you pay for a night here, during this inflated rate weekend, you should be given guest passes for free for up to 4 people. The rooms are decent, the beds are comfortable and the maid service has been very good. On to the bad, the hotel is under construction and I was never notified of this prior to seeing a piece of paper stating so on the desk when I got in the room. I've stayed in hotels that are under construction and I vowed to never do it again, its horrible. When I asked about it they said they are pausing construction for St. Patrick's Day and the weekend. Well, construction started in the room next door, at 8am THE MORNING AFTER ST. PATRICK'S DAY. The paper advising of hotel construction stated that work would only be done after 9am, that was obviously not the case. With the popularity of St. Patrick's Day in this little town, you'd think they'd have an appreciation for hotel guests that will probably be sleeping in! Going on 2 hours of holes being drilled into the wall. Called downstairs, "nothing we can do about it", asked for a later checkout to make up for lost sleep time "we can give you an hour". I've been staying here for 6 days and spent $2k on a room and I've been a Hyatt Gold member for years, you'd think that would earn me some common decency. Had to call down again to see if they can give me ear plugs, that was my only victory (and they're not even good ear plugs). This is the second year I've stayed here, the first time was alright (minus the wrist band thing) but after the treatment this time, I'll be looking at other properties. I also had to get my key rekeyed 3 times because it would just stop working for the elevator and/or my room. I don't know what they're doing next door but I question their competency, sounds like he's made about 50 holes in the wall so far.

There is something to be said that this Sarah Menard keeps giving the same generic responses to guest issues. Personally, my recent stay at this hotel entailed a failure to fill my reservation of a non-smoking king bed room, which was reserved several months prior. They attempted to compensate with a suite. However, the "newly upgraded" suite did not include an actual bed, just a pull out couch, in addition to a large room with no electrical outlets near any of the comfortable furniture. They also attempted to moveduring the 2nd da of m 3 da
