The Young Dancer Workshop is an introduction to more serious summer dance training. Students will receive a daily ballet class along with additional classes in character, modern, choreography and pre-pointe/jumping for boys. Each day will wind down with a lecture series, stretch and conditioning class or dance film. Classes are held in our gorgeous new state-of-the-art facilities on Santa Fe Drive in Downtown Denver. Each session will conclude with a showing in our Black Box Theater. No audition is required for the Young Dancer Workshop, but students ages 9-10 must have a minimum of 2 years of ballet training and students 11-12 must have at least 3 years of prior ballet training to be eligible for the program.

Ballet, modern, jazz, dance history and related film will provide a balanced day of dance for students who are hoping to further their dancing during the summer break. This program is designed to prepare students for more rigorous programs in the upcoming years by focusing on refining their technique and exposing them to additional classes which will help round out their dance education. Students are asked to bring their own snacks, lunch, and water to enjoy on their break.

The classic princesses featured prominently in the world of ballet come to life in this camp. Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Beauty and the Beast are some of the ballets that we will explore. We’ll listen to music, create pre-ballet level dances and make crafts inspired by these different princesses. Students are asked to bring their own snacks and water to enjoy on their break.
