A (somewhat hidden) gem super close to Golden Gate Park that serves up great coffee and delicious food. Apparently the breakfast burrito is top notch though I haven't tried it. The vibe is super relaxed and truly does feel like a little French bike cafe!

My go-to morning pitstop before I go on a bike ride in Golden Gate Park, or through the Presidio on the way to the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin. A little biased but I love the cycling themed decor and food names. My favorite is the Mt. Ventoux, a buttery, flaky breakfast croissant with egg and veggies. I always get it with a Blue Bottle iced coffee (black) and I'm ready to take on the hills!

Such a cute cafe! They have a bike theme which is fun, definitely attracks the biking crowd! The place is small and gets busy fast. Its first come first serve for tables so its always a challenge. The food is great, they have a pretty decent selection of breakfast items which I find important! Its a very sunny and welcoming environment, perfect for a relaxing Sunday breakfast. Its in inner Richmond so its not really close unless you live there.

I love Velo Rouge. The food is great, the coffee is fresh, and everyone who works there is really down to earth and friendly. They have happy hours Wed-Sat and sometimes have music on Friday nights which really packs in a crowd. I personally really love their breakfast burritos and croissant sandwiches! Good spot to go work at, eat with friends, or just get a cup of coffee. Small, but does have both indoor and outdoor seating!

I discovered this place because my husband meets his cycling friends here regularly for breakfast before work. I've joined them a few times. The place is small inside, but there's always been plenty of seating, at least when we're there - before 8am. There are also additional seats outside. There is plenty of bike parking and I've never had trouble finding street parking if I drive. The cafe is child-friendly and has a booster seat and highchair. I usually get a mocha which comes in a giant cup and is very tasty. They have good breakfast sandwiches and my daughter likes their croissant/pastry selection.

I went to Velo Rouge Cafe yesterday to meet up with a friend and catch up. VRC is one block from Golden Gate Park on Arguello, so it is ideally situated if you want to meet people before going into the park or to meet up before going on a bike ride up the street to the Presidio and beyond. We bellied up to the counter and perused the tea selection which was all from one brand of teas. Their only exception was one I-R-I-S-H tea. That's rare. I've never seen an Irish tea. The counter person pointed out that they also sold Irish goodies like candy or other snack at the counter. Okay, personal note to return to try Irish snacks... C ended up trying the Irish tea (a black tea) which he liked. I got an Oolong tea with the cutest name - something like 'Yellow Monkey in a Mellow Mood' - not exactly that phrase really but you get the drift. We sat. We caught up. The place was busy but not so busy that the noise level prevented us from talking comfortably. Awesome time at VRC. I'd go back in a heartbeat to enjoy the lovely bike-oriented, woodsy ambiance.

The coffee here is great and food is also very good. Good place to come for breakfast and people watch on the tables outside or along the bar on the windows. It's always busy but the line moves pretty quickly and is usually not too bad of a wait.
