For a place that doesn't have "yarn" in the name, they are still the best yarn store in the area. Lots of variety, both fancy and basic. Plus six thousand kinds of buttons for when you actually finish the sweater.

Lots of great yarn to choose from, a knitter's paradise. Customer service isn't always quite as great however. The selection of books, & magazines seems small in comparison to the selection of yarn (and beads).

This is great if you're looking for buttons. I think they have just about any type of button you can think of. But if you're looking for fabrics, go elsewhere. All they have is felt. They have a large variety of yarn too... so if you want to knit, go here. They also have a decent selection of threads.

I was reluctant at first to go here, since the reviews mentioned the service wasn't very good, but I found it to be just the opposite. After two other knitting stores in town did not have what I was looking for, I came here and found a great selection and a VERY helpful staff. The resident knitter, Chandra, was extremely nice and helpful. I'm a relatively new knitter, so I needed considerable help, and she was very patient with me, despite having other customers. I will certainly come back here on my next trip to Boston!

I had read earlier reviews and was cautious about visiting this shop. I found it certainly above average in range of craft and needlework inventory. I was looking for specific needles necessary to complete a project and found a selection of types and price range that I was looking for. Customer service was FINE: no frills and I was allowed to browse without anyone being over-solilcitous. Selection of yarns was standard and even included some imports. Wide range of craft materials and of course, LOTs of buttons. This area of Boston regretably has become a little "dicey" for a lone shopper, so avoid in late afternoon winter hours.

I was there for yarn and didn't leave empty handed, but I was a little disappointed with the selection of Cascade 220--not to mention the fact that it's $14 a hank. I was really excited to find some Lamb's Pride Worsted for $9 a skein, though, and went home with four skeins for mittens for my sister. I'll definitely go back for the wide selection, but I know a lot of their stock can be found elsewhere for less.

Had to find a place that carried iron on tape for fixing a minor tear in a favorite Hawaiian Shirt of mine (after checking at Target and several supermarkets finding nothing) and they had several options. The two women working there were very helpful and the woman at the counter was extremely nice, engaging in some very nice chit chat with every customer, complimenting them on certain clothes, etc. She was a top notch sales person. I will go here for all of my future needs.

I was visiting Boston from Los Angeles, and when I realized how close this shop was to my hotel, I knew I had to go. I was not disappointed. I left with a variety of Malabrigo and some Berocco pure merino. They had a TON of yarn compared to the shops I have close to home. So much to choose from. Everyone in the store was totally friendly and offered assistance--I would definitely go back the next time I'm in Boston.
