The runs are great and the lift operators are fun. Actually all of the staff is pretty fantastic. The lodge is nice and so is the pool, and that is about it. This was our first stay at the hotel, and will be our last. I would only recommend come to here to do a day visit. The hotel room are so poor, filthy, old and run down. I would not recommend this place for anyone with a family or children. The rooms would be great for college kids and that is about it. My kids wanted to leave after the first night. Stains all over the carpet and the smell of marijuana all over. We had to get our room moved right away as the marijuana was all over our room. We did know the rooms would be dated and rustic coming in, but did not think it would be as bad as it is. We will be back if we do not feel like making the drive to Crystal or Boyne, but only to use the ski resort. I wish the staff did a better job with the terrain park, as there really is not one. I rated 2 stars as I would rate the hotel with 1 and the ski area a 4

The runs are fun and the lodge is nice and very clean. The rooms however are extremely run down and outdated..the lobby is up to date but as soon as you get up the stairs it is completely run down.. Blankets have cigarettes holes and terrible stains all over it.. Tile in bathroom is also cracking. Good hot tub and pool area. Great place to come to ride.. But to stay I would rethink it..

We love going to Caberfae for a weekend day from Grand Rapids. The weekend season pass is very affordable if you buy it early in the season. I can get busy on Sunday afternoon's because of their family deal.

Nice variety of slopes and relatively cheap lift and rental fees. Really gorgeous views from the top.

I've been coordinating or co-coordinating large group trips to Caberfae for 8 years. By large, I mean between 75 and 100 people! The skiing is always great and the slopes well maintained. The lodge is "rustic", and the crew there always takes good care of us. Looking forward to being there next week!

Ron: Thanks for organizing and bringing your group to Caberfae. We are thrilled that you enjoy it.

Have been going for about 8 years. Our family look forward to it every year. Staff have been helpful. Most instructors have been great with our kids. We come with a large group so the discount is great.

Uncourteous staff, expensive food, and cold food. At the main rest area the food was fast, but very cold. I asked the cashier for a glass of water, but its 25 cents for a water and I left my wallet in my locker. The cashier could of told me there was a drinking fountain just on the other floor. Wifi is remarkably terrible. The rooms are smaller than they appeared to be on the website, especially the bathroom (be sure to curtesy flush). You get what you pay for, but if you can spend a little extra money Boyne Mountain is a family favorite.

Make sure to come during the week as it gets super crowded with newbies on the weekends. Great backcountry area and South peak. Nothing for a terrain park but best prices around on liftopia.
