This hotel was the worst that I have stayed in. When we arrived the front desk person working was very short with words and not helpful at all, basically no concept of customer service. I stayed in a mini suite, which was a joke. There were multiple lights not working. The facets decor was falling off. The room smelled like dust. I felt misled by the websites expectations for the rooms. I am making it a point to tell anyone who is staying in Tahoe to steer clear from this horrible establishment.

Hotel: Dirty...they have the old Caesar's Palace wall paper still. The Chandelier on the 10th floor were our room was located was falling out of the ceiling. The crystals look like they haven't been cleaned in YEARS. Our room: Bathroom floor was dirty there was a pill and toothpick left under the sink. The jacuzzi tub was leaking so we heard dripping for two nights. The towel rack in the bathroom was crooked and so are the little night stands. Casino Floor: Good luck getting a drink. I was playing wheel of fortune for probably two hours. I had to leave the machine 3 times and walk to the HQ Bar to get a drink. Food at Cirque de Solei: This was the only good thing there. The 99 cent tacos and 99 cent Margaritas are off the hook! Montbleu needs serious help. I won't stay there again. They need to clean this place up and re-vamp all of the rooms. Including training their cocktail waitress on customer service. They better get it together because with the Hard Rock Hotel going in they will go under.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in cheap motels that were better kept, with better amenities and less noise. We switched rooms because the sound of other people running their water was so deafening that we could not even hear the television at its maximum volume. We could even hear the bodies of the people staying above us moving around in their tub. Disgusting! The second room we went to had a three inch gap from the floor to the bottom of the door. I could fit my entire hand under the door. There were various bit of wear and tear on the room including but not limited to bite marks on the furniture, peeling carpet, torn wallpaper and a leaky ceiling in the hallway complete with tarp and bucket to catch said drips. This place is a complete dump and i highly discourage anyone from even thinking about staying here longer than thirty seconds.

Pretty mediocre all round, but fine if you get a decent rate for the rooms. The fixtures, carpets etc are all pretty dated, but in some ways gave it a kind of kitschy charm.

While Cafe del Sol has the weekday breakfast and Happy hour specials and basic food, If you want a fantastic dinning experience splurge on Ciera! Only open Wed-Sunday It has the most attentive servers, relaxing setting--special events call and reserve an enclosed booth-!-, and excellent cuisine. You can easily drop $100 if you get wines, but their Wed,Thurs and Sun only Prix Fixe 3 course for $30 IS ONE HELL OF A DEAL. We have tried all combinations of the 3 choices for each course and love them all. Pass up the Buffet and go right next door to Ciera--Steak and Chophouse

"THE BUFFET" - Oddly, I can't find "The Buffet" on Google, but that IS the name of the buffet that's inside Montbleu, or at least it was last summer... 7/17/13: Thinking back, it's kind of weird how small this buffet is. We were happy with it at the time though, and had arrived in a group of four on a Seafood Friday for an early dinner. The 40 minute wait we were quoted was closer to 10. It must be hard to guestimate wait time at a buffet because its not like you can guess when the customer's last trip up for food will be. I enjoyed some pasta and veggies to start. I had one slice of roast beef (the thinnest slice in the entire world), some shrimp and lots of crab. They also had a sad-looking pizza, but perhaps it wasn't terrible since everyone at our table thought all their food was pretty good. We, of course, went in there knowing it was buffet food - which I judge at a slightly different standard than if I had ordered the pasta as a main dish at a sit-down place. Other buffet-goers need to remember that the bottom-line is, it's a casino buffet. And although South Lake is a great area; youre not in Vegas. (OMG, Wicked Spoon Buffet, Las Vegas.... I"m coming for you!!!) Dishes were cleared promptly and drink service was fine. And the price was right. We would return - unless another (large) buffet caught our eye. A large assortment of desserts existed in the corner. I had a lemon bar and wanted some ice cream but just couldn't do it. *sigh* I had forgotten my buffet pants at home so only one round of dessert this time :(

I have enjoyed staying here before. This trip (2/20/14) we chose a non smoking room, unlike my last visit. Bad idea. Level 6 was packed with kids everywhere screaming, jumping and crying. On a smoking level at least the screaming, jumping and crying are usually after hour party related. A young hispanic girl who checked me in had a poor attitude with me and was discussing inappropriate work related issues with a Co worker in front of me! Very unprofessional. The rooms could use an update, and for some reason the breakfast comps are only given out to club members now.
