Our Temco Project

This is the first project for our #Millwright and Industrial Services team to be featured this year!

The 3-week multi-faceted project at Temco included 8 individual project scopes. The individual scopes included tenant improvements made up of demolishing an existing 36,000 pound truck dump, excavation and concrete work to replace the truck dump. Other tenant improvements included engineering and general construction activities to an existing office structure to add additional, usable square footage for a new computer server room. Our team also performed conventional Millwright services including designing, field fabricating and installing a new and improved motor/gearbox mounting scheme in an effort to minimize conveyor vibration and chain wear on the main conveyor that unloads barges and feeds the grain silos. Our skilled team also completed dock oriented work which incorporated an annual inspection and maintenance/repair of the gallery and chutes that load grain onto ocean-going vessels including replacement of wire rope, sheave repair and installation of longer bridles. All dock work was performed from a barge utilizing two 135 foot manlifts. We also completed the installation of an improved grain delivery apparatus to enhance the customer’s ability to load ships more efficiently and effectively.

Finally, our Millwright team provided the customer with a detailed report of findings, work performed and recommendations at the conclusion of the inspection. This project is a great example of the scope of work our highly skilled and competent Millwright team performs. We look forward to highlighting more of their projects throughout the year.

Great job team!

The Northwest Machine Tool Expo

The Northwest Machine Tool Expo is a regional biennial event for the machining and manufacturing industries. The event features free educational sessions and an exhibit floor showcasing the latest products and services in the industry. Omega Morgan has been the preferred rigging provider for this event since 2011. We use our nearly 25 years’ experience to offer our service for moving machinery over 4,000 lbs. This year, we flawlessly orchestrated the delivery, move-in and move-out at the exhibit hall of 72 pieces for 43 machines. Skilled Omega Morgan crews, using a variety forklifts ranging from 8k to 30k, our 60k versalift and a 75 tons tri-lifter, moved the various pieces, totaling 503,000 pounds.

This year’s expo boasted more than 2,000 attendees and exhibitors. We were honored to work with well-known exhibitors and respected names in the machining and manufacturing industries, such as: Amada Machine Tools America, Inc; DMG Mori Ellison Technologies; Fahey Machinery Co. Inc; Ganesh Machinery; LMI Machinery, Inc; Machine Toolworks Inc.; North by Northwest (NxNW) Toolworks LLC; Rosco Precision Machinery LLC; Selway Machine Tool Company and Spinetti Machinery. Our team including 4 crews, a project manager and sales representative worked for weeks planning to ensure the two-day event went off without a hitch.

Great job Omega Morgan team! We’re looking forward to the next expo in 2017!

We love timelapse!

Check out our awesome crew loading a 235,000 lb module at what appears like world record speed.

(Note: it actually took our crew about 4.5 hours - but is reduced to less
than 30 seconds through the miracle of technology)

#TBT - we still love this picture from Spring 2013 of our crew hauling #WSDOT's Sanpoil (formerly Keller) Ferry over the Snake River.

The RIG of the MONTH for September is the hydraulic dolly

We have 20 hydraulic dollies. These compact modular machines can be combined with other equipment to haul wide loads of size and weight. We have several Holland and Vogel brand hydraulic dollies.  The hydraulics allows for each dolly to raise 18 inches which can be crucial when carrying heavy loads over grades and steep terrain. The dollies stand at just 38 inches tall so they can easily slide into place under large loads. Our Holland dollies can carry up to 40 tons and the Vogel dollies can carry up to 50 tons - each. These dollies can be self-controlled or controlled by wireless remote. The dolly systems can be steered by drawbar or hydraulically. We have used our dollies to haul many large loads like the Ocean Peace, the Keller Ferry, and countless barges pictured here.
