I'm throwing this out to the G+ RPG Hive Mind, as I'm drawing a complete blank. I remember years ago playing in a Gamma World adventure that took place on a space station with zombies. But my Google Fu is apparently weak today as I can't really figure out what the heck that was. From a Dragon magazine, perhaps? Anyone point me int he right direction, as I'm trying to find a copy of this adventure, but I'm hitting a dead end, brain-wise...

If you enjoy playing zombie boardgames, videogames, or RPGs, take a moment and remember the guy who started the whole damn genre.

After reading through Shadow and Ink (awesome supplement), I've been mulling other genres that might lend themselves to the Quill experience. How about:

Quill: The Front Page -- The player is a reporter trying to assemble the best front page news story they can. Will you decide to report the facts as they are, or will you hedge into sensationalism to increase the circulation (while risking alienating your core readers in the process)?

Quill Noir -- You're a hardboiled 1930s gumshoe looking to solve the crime and stay alive. All letters are instead written in a first-person monologue format ("letters to yourself") as you mull over the clues and suspects you've encountered.

Eeep, I may have screwed up my Rules of Correspondence for one of the scenarios in Quill Quest. For Roinan the Dwarf, one of the Rules is:

- However, Roinan dislikes it when someone blathers on needlessly. A Flourished
Superior Word is only worth 1 additional point in this scenario. -

Upon re-reviewing the Quill rules, if a Flourished Superior Word is only worth 1 point, then it would be the same 1 point you score for just using the Superior Word int he first place, correct? So any flourish attempt would be a useless endeavor when writing to Roinan, it appears.

Also, since the best score available is 11+ points, it would be impossible to achieve without the availability of Flourishes, as you could only score 10 points max, yes?

Could someone chime in and confirm this? If so, I'll need to rework that one Rule of Correspondence for this scenario.

Genius. Is it parody? Good-natured ribbing? Bitter sarcasm run amok? Don't care. MUST HAVE ONE. (The promotional video is spot-frigging-on.)

A year ago in my review of Quill: A Letter-Writing Roleplaying Game for a Single Player, I said I could one day see myself writing up new scenarios for this fascinating solo RPG. That day is today.

After two years of writing and design, I've managed to produce and release my first supplement for Quill called "Quill Quest: The Warlord's Downfall." This is my attempt to introduce some new roleplaying mechanics to Quill, including "Motivators and Deterrents," and a Quest Results subtotal that affects the final outcome of your campaign. (Yes, campaign!) It's available as PWYW at DTRPG. Thanks, and enjoy!
