I ordered a fancy new processor yesterday. Apparently I need to flash my BIOS before I put it in. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which gods I should make sacrifices to before I start?

They are the founders of the last 50 years of electronics: Gordon Moore has the eponymous Moore's Law; Bob Widlar and Bob Pease were two of the most influential analog designer of the early Integrated Circuit age. A huge number of the ICs designed in the 1970s were designed by one of those two.

I had heard that part of the reason what Oedipus did was considered wrong was that Greek morality was unconcerned with intent, only outcome. That's why the gods punished him for patricide and incest, even though he had no idea he was doing it.

I think glossing over the fact that both of the justifications for war in Iraq were at best mistakes if not lies was poor history. You mentioned that the Lusitania was yellow journalism, why doesn't it deserve notice when the government does it?

I told my class that I'd ask my programming and database friends if they could think of any counter-examples to these rules. Can anyone think of any?
1. Always have your foreign key point to a primary key (even though the DB should technically be fine with you pointing to anything that's indexed).
2. Every entity/table should have a primary key.

Less than half the video was about Benghazi. Clearly this means he's biased.

Agents of SHIELD is supposed to be X-files not super heroes the TV show. I actually really like what they did with the Mandarin because it's hard to surprise people in this sort of thing. I actually think it's necessary that the rights are broken up because studios can only make so many super hero mega blockbusters per year, it's just that everyone other than Joss needs to get their shit together. You can leave early if you don't want to watch the funny bit at the end.

Dear Microsoft,

If I already have an account linked to Dreamspark that verifies I'm a faculty member at an academic institution, why do I need to send you paper proof of the same thing? You also know I'm a student from the fact that I got access to some of your fancy data as a researcher, which required verification too. On top of all that, you have already sold me other stuff and accepted my verification that I'm a student from that. That's 3 times you have said "yup, he's a legit academic guy". You shouldn't need more!

Karl's is great. I play FNM here every week and thoroughly enjoy it. It's a relaxed atmosphere of friendly players. On top of that Karl charges less than MSRP for most of the events he runs so you can save a few bucks by coming here.

It's basically a non-chain version of chipotle. I liked the wider variety of meats but disliked that the only vegetables were on veggie burritos.

The burger was pretty good but the fries left much to be desired.

I got a great futon, platform bed, and mattress here. The service was great and selection was better than you'd expect from a small store. They also can order stuff so it's got a great selection. They are willing to go the extra mile by providing things like loaner mattresses free of charge. But be forewarned, you will have to haggle to get a good price.

I guess some people like the signature way they pound patties flat but I'm not one of them. It winds up with chunks of burnt grease just attached to the edges. The fries were better but I'm still not a fan. The place was also much dirtier than I would have expected. I eat a lot of fast food but this place was bad. The "clean" tables still had chunks of food from previous meals on them and the floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in hours (even in response to spills).

The food is delicious. I had their chicken sandwich and it was unlike anything I've had before. I'm normally a fan of less healthy stuff but this was better than what I normally eat despite being full of veggies. When you come make sure you order their root beer. It's an amazing microbrew that I'd love to have replace all future root beer I drink.

This place of amazing. I never knew chicken had its own distinct flavor (i thought it was just a carrier for sauces) until I ate here.
