#UngulateWeek

The Common Duiker, also known as the Grey Duiker, is a small and very shy antelope. They are quick to run away from people and cars, hence the name “Duiker” – Diver.

They have an interesting diet, browsing, grazing, eating fruits and we have even seen them scavenge before!

#UngulateWeek

The Steenbok is arguably the most beautiful small antelope in the Kruger National Park. They are mainly browsers, but will also feed on fruits, tubers and roots. They do not often graze on grass.

The male has horns and the females don’t. In the Kruger National Park they rarely drink water, gaining most of the water/moisture they need from their diet.

Everyone loves Hippo’s! The noise they make, the cute (But ugly at the same time) babies, and their antics in the water can keep you happy for hours.

Hippo’s are nocturnal and will come out of the water at night to graze. They are very dangerous, especially when they have young ones with them, and will not hesitate to fully charge and cause harm to anyone or anything.

They are placid animals, besides their anger, but who wouldn’t be protective as a parent anyway?
