Pok Pok was the first restaurant I wanted to eat at when visiting Portland. I had high expectations when coming in but was sorely unimpressed when all was said and done. They start your off with spicy peanuts that are anything but spicy, unless you consider salt and a little oil spice. I ordered their famous wings. Okay I guess, but nothing to get hyped about. I split two entrees, neither of which was convincing. I tried telling myself that I got unlucky and choose the wrong dishes, but alas, the theme was clear. Bland food. I wish their recipes were half as good as their PR.

I was really disappointed in our meal. We were seated at a nice table and the staff was friendly, but the experience was bland. The ribs were disappointing; they were dry and lacked flavor (the sauces were tasty but not enough). The stew was small and less flavorful than expected. The side of sticky rice said to be able to be shared by the whole table was the size of a child's first, and all of the portions were quite small except the wings. And the waiter recommended dish claimed to be spicy was anything but. I'm sure there are tasty things on the menu, and the wings were reported to be delicious, but unluckily enough for me, they were both too delicious and too sparse to share with anyone else at the table. I am fine with small portions when the flavors pack a punch, but instead it was flat and meek. There was one interesting highlight: the tasting vinegar. It was unexpectedly tasty and complex. I just had a few sips, but I wish the rest of the meal had similar complex flavors.

We had a great dinner here with friends. We ordered the chicken wings, boar collar and the duck. There were a couple of other dishes as well that I did not order so they have escaped my memory. The food was delicious we would return. Loved the collards with the boar collar to cut the spice.

I grabbed a quick lunch here with my mom on a Friday afternoon -- there seems to nearly always be a wait but I was able to settle for bar seating after a 10 min wait. We weren't that hungry so we decided to share the Khao Soi -- one of my favorite Thai dishes EVER. I felt that it could have been a slightly larger serving for $15 but I was satisfied with the taste and quality of it. We were the only ones sitting at the bar so service with the bartender was fantastic and extremely quick. I'll be back to try the infamous wings sometime -- maybe at an off day/hour to avoid a long wait.

Food was pretty good but didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Was hoping for a better selection of Thai curry dishes. Water had a funny taste and the portions are small and over priced. However service was great and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu.

Seem to pride themselves on being modern and doing unique takes on traditional dishes. Outstanding flavors. However, the execution could be a little better compared to other Thai restaurants, especially those in California. That being said, still a great place.

The waiter helped me find a vegan dish I loved. Best Thai food I've had since being in Thailand. A little expensive but worth it.

Food was okay but overpriced. Nice dining areas. All in all it was not worth all the hype.
