Introduction
Founded in 2000, the journal The Plan is today one of the most acclaimed architecture and interior design magazines in Italy and internationally. With 8 issues a year, the journal is distributed in 70 countries through bookstores and specialist newsagents, and on a subscription basis in paper and digital formats for tablet, iPad and Android devices. Circulation exceeds 30,000 copies. The journal is published with parallel English and Italian texts. Starting 2015, there is now an English/Chinese version. All legends are also in Spanish and German.
As well as providing an overview of current architectural design trends, The Plan is also a study tool, with in-depth analyses of all project phases, from original concept to finished work. Special focus is given to the particular urban or rural context and the architectural solutions and building techniques adopted as a result.
Since 2011 the Editorial Committee - every year made up of 8 major international architects – contributes a Critical Editorial to each issue, looking at pertinent professional, research and cultural topics. Introduced in 2013, the section entitled TheCityPlan examines a different city with each issue and how it tackles its specific urban planning problems.

Our portal www.theplan.it was completely overhauled in 2015 in the Italian, English and Chinese versions. Every month it provides a broad overview of the state-of-the-art of architecture in Italy and elsewhere. Webzine content is divided into several sections covering a variety of subjects, such as recently completely projects, sector-specific events, the results of architecture competitions, in-depth product research and technological innovation.

Since 2003 The Plan Editions has also published books on architecture and design. Subjects range from an overview of selected projects to monographic editions dedicated to an architect or designer of international renown. Like the journal, all our publications take a close look at the creative process, from the initial idea through to completion.

Since 2010 The Plan organizes the international conference Perspective. There are two editions: one in Venice or Milan (attributed 8 ECTS credits), and one in New York (recognized by the AIA as a training event). The meetings provide in-depth updates on topical architectural and design issues. They are also an opportunity to widen one’s professional network, meet people from the design, industrial and research world and generally stay in the loop. The two-day conference includes international speakers, workshops, one-to-one business meetings and many opportunities for informal exchange. Attendance is by invitation and includes top figures in the architecture and industrial world, contractors and developers, bringing together the whole supply chain under one roof for two days.

Since 2015 The Plan has delivered a course of 20 Training Conferences, accredited by CNA (Italy’s Small Business Association) in 20 major cities under the aegis of the Provincial Architects and Engineers Association. Each 4-hour conference includes high-level talks and lessons and provides 4 ECTS credits.

-------------
