So I don't love the notion that a city or nation's worth is determined by its wins on the sporting field. Cleveland is not a cursed city because it didn't have a championship for 50 years. Better that people concentrate on making life better through other means.
That said, though, it's still really cool that LeBron James came home to the Cleveland area to win one for the city, and then did it. Winning a title is not important. But it still feels good, and when someone makes a point of bringing that title home to where he grew up, it matters.
Therefore, congrats to LeBron, the Cavs, and the city of Cleveland.
