" L'Heure Bleue " by Matt Anderson

( les bleus heure rêves Caribbean - Twilight, The Blue Hour in the Caribbean). January 2012, Turks and Caicos coastline at dusk / twilight. Trade-winds & localized cloud cover creating wispy shapes and variegated colors throughout earths heavens. Lower coastal rocks and coral formations anchoring the elusive motioning; ever shifting sea.

He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

Psalm 104 (Section) Perhaps my favorite Psalm of all.

~ North Fork Falls ~
This was taken along the Kentucky Creek system in Oregon (just east of Reedsport) during the remaining fall colors this past year. What a lovely hike and a beautiful area to explore!

Getting ready for the weekend with my contribution for #FlowingWaterFriday curated by +Kate Church and myself.

Red fall leaves beside a small stream with flowing water.
In the larger version you can see that the rock is covered with ice and the upper fall leave has some frost on it.

I photographed this photo on a very cold winter day and it was actually a big challenge to get to this spot because all the rocks around were super slippery.

I framed the photo fairly tight to counter balance the flowing water with the leaves, I actually like that the leaves are kind of framing the shot too. The light green moss on the top leave added a bit more color - it is one of my favorite color combinations - red and green.

I used obviously a long exposure to "soften" the water and to give it a bit of extra "flowing".

I think this fall/winter photo also fits also perfectly to #FourSeasonsFriday by +Karin Nelson and +Stephonie Ogden.

This is another image from my trip to Yellowstone. I love to shoot snowy scenics with a blue sky. In Western Washington we do not get much snow and when we do there is rarely a blue sky. But in the Rocky Mts. is is quite common to have very cold, crisp days with beautiful blue skies. The white snow just goes so well with blue skies.

This reminds me of when I was little and would spend hours playing in the run-offs and streams left behind after a good rainfall! =)

spring in Purgatory for #flowingwaterfriday . I love this brook and the masses of mountain laurel that bloom every June. For this shot I had to scale down a steep rocky bank because there was no other way to reach the boulder I wanted to set up the tripod on. Worth it.
