Do you struggle with the distraction of social media?  You're not the only one. Great post by +Melissa Camara Wilkins.
What if we stop trying to see it all, and instead start trying to deeply understand just some of it, with all of the nuance involved?

I find those moments of clarity - when our perspectives are realigned - to be some of the most valuable in life. Thanks for sharing and reminding all us parents what's truly important. God speed, Brother.

The pain of having Facebook is easier to bear than the pain of not having it.

Agreed, although I can get the news feed back to most recent instead of "top stories" whenever I want, but it won't stay there. I don't like being "funneled" into seeing the same folks over and over. Weird algorithm just reinforces from what we've liked over and over. That's not how human experience is supposed to be. Where's the new stuff?

“Fragile songs get crushed by the business.” // Eddie Vedder on why Pearl Jam never made Black into a single.

I love music with a passion, and have to admit that I go through seasons of completely missing the Grunge era. So many great songs written out of pain and authenticity.

Because I'm not ashamed.
You see me on social media, and you see me write about my past. But what you don't see or hear me talk about is my love for God.

Jesus' message is so good and full of hope! Its such a shame the effect the religion we've wrapped it up in has had on this simple and life-altering message. We need less religious entities speaking out and more of this! More people who's lives have been bent by the Gospel who are not afraid to say so. Thanks, Brian.

New post. Because this period definitely shaped those of us who lived through it.
In my opinion, there is no music genre where the anesthetization of pain is more evident than grunge.

While I'm not a fan of risking my life to achieve the ultimate high, I've come to the realization that some risks are necessary in life.

Many of you wonder why I'm such a Sarah McLachlan fan. Here's the answer.
The search for significance runs deep, and our yearning to be loved can bare some really devastating consequences when not handled properly.

Brother, I've always wondered. Thank you for sharing. I've got some stories about life challenges I'd be happy to share with you one of these days. Perhaps next time you're in Boulder - which I'm (finally) moving back later this summer.

New post, and one you need to read.
Once in a while people communicate your thoughts in a way that you cannot -- for me, this is one of those times. Enjoy.

Timely powerful writing about social interaction. Vulnerability and, this one, speaking truth rather than becoming the system as success rears its head. Great guest writers.
And I'll be checking out ghost as well.
