Harry Perry on Venice beach California.
This was on a trip to the computer graphics convention SIGGRAPH in LA, a few of us went down to the beach for some afternoon drinks and watch the crowds go by.

The Australia Nebula
processed image from RAW Hubble data. NASA. ESA.

I didn't know there was an Australia nebula!
Officially known as MA-1797 this star-forming region is described as being very dense and compact with a large red-shift, however it was only by chance that it was captured while Hubble was observing MA-1796, part of a study looking into planetary nebula beyond our galaxy.
