A mile high, 500mm, and some heavy-handed processing. Taken from our patio in Denver tonight.

Super-focused Sophie on the back side of Mt Galbraith this weekend. She thinks she saw a s-q-u-i-r-r-e-l.

I saw +Jane Goodall speak last night in Boulder, Colorado. Her talk was excellent; she spends 300 days a year travelling the world talking about conservation, nature, and Chimpanzees of course.

Apparently about 8000 people showed up. She signed autographs until almost midnight. I took the second photo about an hour into the line, with over an hour to go to reach Goodall, who is under the American flag at the far end of the arena. I amused myself by determining the rough average time per autograph (about 9/min) to determine the total number of people in line (1100, give or take a few). I think she finally left shortly before midnight.

I just noticed you can manually create animated photos using the Photos app on Android. For once my over-shooting had paid off! Now if the +Google Photos team would just add a slider to slow things down a bit...

This Leopard was resting after a big meal in the Linyanti, Botswana, near King's Pool Camp run by +Wilderness Safaris.

I took this photo of a Black-Backed Jackal on a night drive in Zimbabwe last year. This is one of those photos that I quickly dismissed as too blurry, but I kept coming back to it so I decided to post it. I had about one second to snap the photo while bouncing around in a safari truck with a big lens, so it's amazing it came out this clear :P

Last week's photo of Sophie (that received more +1s than any other photo I've ever posted) gave me the urge to look through my older photos of her. I took the photo below when she was about 2 years old. She's about 6 years old now.
