Friends of Arizona's Shelter Animals (FASA) is not a rescue group. We volunteer our time to get pictures and information about the animals scheduled to be euthanized and make them available to the public and rescue groups.
Every rescue group is welcome to join us to reach out to potential foster/adopters and collect donations to help the animals in our albums. FASA does not hold on to any donations. Any monies pledged to help an animal go directly to the rescue group who is taking responsibility for an animal or the adopter.
We're here to be a neutral bridge and to maximize the animals chances to be rescued.
Our message is:
Nearly 50,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in Maricopa County each year due to backyard breeding, unaltered (not fixed) dogs and cats, and the public's view of shelter animals as "broken" in some way.
We can solve this problem by committing to and spreading the word about the following topics:
1. Don't shop for a pet. Adopt your pets from a local shelter or rescue organization.
2. Spay and Neuter your pets and encourage your friend and family to do the same.
3. Become a FOSTER PARENT to a homeless animal. Fostering is the key to saving lives as animals that sit in the shelter environment for long periods of time are harder to adopt.
