The best tacos (al carbon) and sopes (carnitas) that I have ever tasted and I'm from CA and have had the real thing. The tortillas are handmade which makes a HUGE difference. The tableside guacamole was excellent as well as the ceviche appetizer and the flan dessert! I am extremely picky when it comes to mexican food and I LOVE this place! I would say that the "al carbon" steak is best, with the carnitas (slow cooked pork) in a close second. Chicken is not Santo Coyotes' specialty and was a little bland but I'm a red meat kind of girl and the steak fajitas and al carbon tacos are to die for.

We come here a couple times a month. Prices are fair and the food is always very good. Portions have shrunk a bit since they opened but still tasty enough that we keep coming back; the free chips and salsa is decent. I'm a particular fan of the steak taco salad, they have very very fresh ingredients in all their dishes.

Sadly, this place has gone down, both in service and food quality. It was always a bit pricey for Mexican food. Last dinner trip took almost two hours, with most of it spent waiting for service. Weeknight and not crowded, so no excuse.

Above average mexican food. I tried the fajitas to give a fair comparison. They were great for what I wanted. The service is good in this clean environment.

We went to Santo Coyote a few months ago. We wait for several minutes to be seated. That would have been fine had there been other in front of us waiting. None the less we waited. After being seated we waiting again for 10 minutes before our server came to our table. Red Flag...should of left right then but we stay because we had heard the food was good. Our server, while kind, was extremely negligent in her service. Chips ran out, drinks glass empty, salsa out, etc. We ordered the guacamole which was excellent. Our wait for our main meal was 34 minutes. Poor, poor service. Now today while we were on that side of town we thought we would try them again for a late lunch. I'm always willing to give a place a second chance. We walked through the door and no one was at the front to seat us. I thought, here we go again. We waited for 5 minutes. No one showed. A server in the dining room saw us standing out front and appeared to go to the back to get someone to seat us however no one showed. Needless to say, we walked out never to return. While driving away we decided to call and talk to the manager. We thought perhaps management didn't know that whomever was supposed to be at the front wasn't doing their job. I know if I was a manager I would have wanted to know. A business can't endure too many people walking out or they don't last long. So, we call and don't laugh...after 10 minutes on hold we hung up. Go figure.. I absolutely can not recommend this restaurant. Service is absolutely horrible. Food is good but if you choose to go be prepared for a long, long, long, wait and sub-par service.

Great food! Fresh, seasoned well, Guac at table was very good. Wait time on a friday nite was about 15 min. Good service, did not wait very long for food to arrive. We will be back.

Food is great; but don't sit in a booth in the bar area if you want service
