A MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Paula Prendergast

4 Star Charity Navigator
I am very proud to share that for the third year in a row, we have received a 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator.  Charity Navigator is America's premier independent charity evaluator. They help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health and ethics of America's largest charities.  Only 12% of the charities they rate have received a 4-star rating for three years in a row. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates us from our peers and demonstrates to the public they we are worthy of their trust and hard-earned dollars. As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, this rating is especially important in helping us fulfill our mission.

I want to encourage everyone to take advantage and participate in CCFA’s Freee Webinars. Our next one is Advances in IBD: An Update for Patients.  It will provide an overview of the most important clinical research discussions from the CCFA Advances in IBD 2013 conference including: the uses of diagnostic tests, surgery for IBD, progress in the area of genetics and the microbiome, as well as a look at the future of IBD care. Participants will hear from a leading expert in the field of IBD research, and have the opportunity to ask questions.  We are fortunate to have our FL Chapter Board of Trustee member, Dr. Maria Abreu be the first expert to start off this series.  Save the date and register for this webinar at:

A MESSAGE FROM BOARD OF DIRECTOR KEITH GROSSMAN ~
If you are interested in supporting research for Crohn’s & Colitis, please consider making a donation by purchasing a raffle ticket. I have been involved with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) for a number of years, and I’m a member of the Board of Directors for the State of Florida as well as the chair of the Southwest Florida committee.

Although I do have Crohn’s, my symptoms are manageable. Others are not as fortunate.

There are 2 different drawings, which are part of the Keymorada fishing tournament that is held each year in Islamorada to support CCFA.
·         A fabulous general drawing, which will have prizes like jewelry, hotel, airline and restaurant certificates.

·         A Fishing Drawing with free guided days of fishing, rods and reels etc.

The requested donation for either drawing is $100 per ticket, and you don’t need to be present to win.

All funds raised through the drawing will benefit the University of Miami Crohn's &Colitis Center. The Crohn's & Colitis Center provides state of the art treatment and services.

I can make arrangements to get you tickets (Checks should be made payable to the " UM Crohn's & Colitis Center"). Just let me know which drawing you want to be entered into. You can contact me at keith@attorneygrossman.com Subject CCFA Raffle Ticket

Thank you for your support and consideration of this charitable event. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed.

Warm regards,
Keith Grossman
