I'm not sure what happened to the other people but I've been taking all my cars and trucks here for more than a year and have had no problems. They have put on spares for free, read and cleared codes for free, and provided lots of great advise. When I need them to do a repair they do it right and at a fair price. I agree with the review that said inspections take forever. But it is like that no matter where we go, they say 45 minutes and we are sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half! Overall, this Car-X is great and I hope it stays that way since finding a great repair shop alternative to the dealership is not easy.

Please do not bring your vehicle here.On top of shorting their employees pay and not adhering to fair labor work standards laws in Texas, Doug Stine (District Manager) tried to get me to break and install a starter on a Mazda 3 that was incorrect. When I refused and ultimately quit because of the "Car X" policies, Mr Stine called the police. The starter was broken by another technician the following day and installed without the customers knowledge. This is the most dishonest and unprofessional shop I have ever worked at in my 25 years in the automotive industry. Take your car to a reputable shop with trained technicians that can and will repair your vehicle honestly and correctly.

They installed an Interstate battery in my car, which company is known for their excellent warranty exchange program. This was part of some other work they performed on my AC (which failed a few months later). I had the battery tested at Autozone: bad. I took it to Car-X for an exchange and they refused service since THEY forgot to itemize it on my bill of service. I called the Interstate battery customer service, which told me the battery date is laser etched on the battery, and that I didn't need a receipt for exchange. They then referred me to a more competent service center which agreed to take care of me. I will never go to Car-X again, and will tell all of my friends to avoid it.

I took my truck in for an oil change. They came in and told me I needed an oil pan gasket and I was kinda iffy but I asked him why and the manager took me outside and showed me why I needed it and explained to me what the process was, and what the part was there for. Their salesman and mechanics are very knowledgeable and they are very nice and helpful. They even picked me up and dropped me off. Thank you so much! My truck runs like a champ! I would def. Recommend this place to anyone!

Bad service. Found on next day that battery cover not fixed properly, coolant level on minimum. No free wipers replacement as stated in the offer, because stock is empty.

Worst place ever! I had a valve gasket cover changed and right away the leak got worse than it originally was. I took the car back to them and a service rep told me that the leak was coming from another source because pressure had built up. That didn't make sense to me, so I waited to talk to the manager the next day. He told me to bring a new valve cover gasket and that he would change it without charge. I drop off the car and told later that day that the leak was coming from somewhere else. Duh! After all that I decide to take it to Japanese Motorsports and come to find out the valve cover gasket was put on wrong. I had oil all over the engine. If CarX would have at least taken off the valve cover once out of the two times I brought it back, I wouldn't have had the problem. The worst part is that I couldn't even get a refund for the labor or the part. Lube techs doing mechanic work? The manager and service reps are incompetent. Don't waste your money with this place.
