I started off thinking I was a scientist. So I went to school for biology and have spent some time exploring the Bahamas, Belize, and Nicaragua and getting very into nature as a whole.
But the whole time there was a storyteller inside nagging and trying to get out. I always had something to say and found myself in acting. For more than a decade I have been doing theater performing in classy places like the Kennedy Center, The White House, and with the theater company I am a member of 'Faction of Fools'.
Again though, this wasn't quite right. I was tired of telling other people's stories and realized I needed to tell my own. So I have become a writer and film maker. In 2011 I started my own film company 'GuyLoki Films'. Named after the Norse god who was known for causing trouble and chaos and keeping all of Asgard on its toes. Since then I have been making films at a sometimes alarming rate. Every film I learn something new and try to integrate it into the next project.
Now after having had a few films get small awards and my confidence as a visual storyteller improving I am stepping up my game and realizing that I am not alone. With so many other people in the same boat as me I now maintain a blog about the lessons I am learning called 'Stories from the F-Stop'.
I am looking forward to meeting, talking, and maybe even collaborating with the rich and vibrant community of film makers and other storytellers here on Google+. I know I have some good stuff ahead of me, hopefully you do too.
