I came here on a Saturday night with two girlfriends before the ballet. We didn't have a reservation but we quickly found a lounge spot big enough for the three of us. We ordered cocktails and food to share. I had the bee-side, which was delicious and refreshing with lemon and mead from the rooftop bee garden. We shared the avocado salmon toast, kale chips, fava bean salad, burger, and charcuterie plate. Avocado/salmon toast - by far my favorite of the bunch. Just really perfectly done. Citrusy salmon, creamy avocado, crunchy toast. Kale chips and goat cheese - really interesting dish. The kale chips weren't single leaf chips like I've seen before but seemed to be made from some kind of puree instead. They had the texture of a popped rice chip. They were delicious, and paired really well with the whipped goat cheese they were served with. Fava bean salad - tasted like spring. The fennel was a great touch. Burger - I didn't have any of the burger but the other two girls seemed to like it a lot, and the french fries served on the side were super crispy. Charcuterie - pretty disappointing. Not a lot of meat, not particularly flavorful options, and the bread served with it overpowered the lighter flavors of the meat. Not something I'd order again. Overall, this was a nice place to stop with solid food and drinks. On the pricy side, so not somewhere I'd go all the time, but a great option before a show.

This gem still makes my mouth water when i reminisce about my visit. My starter was the jardinière charcuterie. My main dish was the duck breast confit, and an order of duck fat potatoes. All were magic in my mouth. The staff and vibe were good, the food is the star attraction (as it should be). Worth the visit.

Hayes Valley hot spot, Jardniere pleases the locals and folks coming in for Opera and Symphony on a nightly basis. Seasonal food menu is updated daily, French/California style dishes delight diners. Plush decor, comfortable seating in the lounge, a great place for a cocktail and a small nosh if you don't have time for dinner.

We hit up Jardiniere before a show at Bill Graham Civic. Spring menu was fantastic but not "way out there". Scallops (dinner size) Risotto Chicken and Asparagus Duck Fat Potato Several of their signature cocktails. Everything was cooked perfectly as one would expect in a place like this. Scallops were seared perfectly. Risotto was perfect...not soupy, not dry. Asparagus was in season and delicious. Potato was amazing. Service was impeccable. We were there on a Thursday, so it wasn't crazy busy. Decor had a lot of subtle touches such as champagne flute candle holders and original brick walls. Very cool.

My wife and I enjoyed a trip to the restaurant during our honeymoon. The food was AMAZING (we chose the tasting menu), and our server was excellent as she helped ensure that we made it to our evening concert on time. Additionally, I must commend the fact that the restaurant includes a wonderful selection of nonalcoholic beverages, something my wife and I were able to really enjoy (she had a spritzer with juice and mint, and I had a wonderful vineyard grape juice). We would DEFINITELY recommend this place.

Everything was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and seemed to be a step ahead of our needs. The sommelier was quite knowledgable (as one would expect) and suggested the perfect wine that complimented both our meals. The food was delicious! It was such a special evening.

One of the better restaurants I have been to in the city, this place has excellent food, a good wine list and an enjoyable ambiance. The first thing you notice may be the chandelier and second story balcony, but the food is why you should eat here. Both the risotto and the duck are excellent as are the scallops. You will certainly need a reservation to get in here and it is very pricey. Great special occasion spot!

Carl, thank you so much for recommending us on Google+. I'm pleased to hear that from our inviting ambiance to our expertly crafted dishes, you enjoyed your dining experience. I hope you get a chance to dine with us soon! If you're not available for dinner, please join us in our lounge for a cocktail and a few small plates. - Stephen, General Manager

Good food, expensive, small portions. Good place to go before an opera or a ballet performance. The fowl of the forest appetizer was pretty good, tried braised short rib and the beets side.
