Read that this was a DC institution and a must-visit place, so we had dinner here. I had read that reservations here are highly recommended, so I did so. The atmosphere is great, the food very good, and the service was also great. They are attentive to you without being overly in your face, and also very helpful in explaining the menu choices. Try to have a meal here if you can, but be warned that it is very popular, so it will be crowded and loud. If that is not to your liking, then I suggest you do not eat here.

Keith - Thank you so much for your excellent review! Yes, we always recommend reservations to minimize the wait times for you. We are more than thrilled that we fulfilled the hype that you heard and hope to see you back here again very soon!

A common lament with a great place: wait time. Yes it was a little long, but hey were out for the night not trying to catch a plane. This place was simply amazing and well worth it, as anything truly good is. The service was excellent, the food was fresh, wonderful and served quickly. The bloody Mary was one of the best I have ever had only to be outshone by the Mirror lake Inn Lake Placid, NY. If your in a hurry go to a fast food joint, if you want to enjoy a great place anytime of day, take your time and truly enjoy this DC gem.

horrible experience: 1. wait time was ridiculous. we were there at 5pm and asked for table of 5. Host told us the wait times was 45 mins. A lot of people who came before us and same time as us got seated around 45 mins mark even a big table for 15, but no table for us. So we asked how much longer, again was told not long just another 20 mins. Ok, so we waited again, at 20 mins mark still no table. Went to ask the host again and was told not much longer, until about 1 hour later then we got a table and not a table just for us but a communal table shared with other people. All this time when we were waiting, we overheard a family who came and put their name down at noon and still had to wait 1 hour. 2. we ordered mostly the popular dishes (chk+waffle, etc). food was so overrated. waffle was soggy, chk lacking flavour. overall bad experience, not worth the wait. A host should know exactly what the wait time for table. Don't keep customer waiting and give fake wait time just to get their money. bad way of doing business.

The two of us had brunch here on one of the days in visiting DC. We walked in around 1ish on a Saturday and the place was a zoo! There were a ton of people waiting by the doorway and stairway. We had to maneuver through the crowd to get to the host. We were quoted 1.5 hour and was told the bar is open/self seating. Lucky for us 2 seats opened up within 10 minutes. We shared the chicken & waffles and the founding farmers breakfast. The chicken & waffles, I must say is one of THE best I've had. The chicken had a nice light batter and was so moist and juicy. It got me craving for more days after. The waffle was also really good. It was light and airy. The founding farmers was a traditional breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, and an English muffin. Nothing was spectacular about this aside from the hash browns. It was done perfectly. The bloody mary was delicious! Strong and spicy BUT didn't come with celery! Service was okay. The bartender was super busy. We had to ask for ketchup a couple of times.

Most delicious restaurant abd best ambiance in DC! Open until 12 am on Saturdays a visit to this gem normally requires a reservation. Upon arriving at 11:00 pm after a long day of sightseeing we were ready for some comfort food! After asking if we had a reservation, we were told not to worry about it and we were seated cheerfully and promptly. Everyone kept asking if this was our first visit and seemed so excited when told it was. Everything about this establishment is top notch! From the attentive servers to the quaint and cozy decor, to the appealing menu choices. My husband chose the chicken and waffles and I chose the meatloaf. What can we say? Absolutely fantastic and tantalizing! The chixken was to die for, the meatloaf exquisite! The side of mac and cheese and the green beans and the mashed potatoes were out of this world! The servers are so friendly and attentive and the music is not too loud and the lighting is perfect! We absolutely adore this little place and are sure to frequent as much as possibleble!♡

FF is a pretty recent addition to the much lacking DC food scene. They have done a fantastic job and you can never go wrong here. My personal favorite? The bacon. Nom nom nom :)

Yesterday, my husband and I ate lunch at Founding Farmers with our grandson, Cole, who works there part time. The experience was outstanding. The meal was delicious! My husband had the chicken pot pie and although it was different, he loved it. My tomato soup and salad were perfect. Our server was excellent, the supervisor, Ellen came over to our table and gave us extra attention which made us feel very special. This restaurant is a place not to be missed if you are coming to DC, you will not be disappointed!
