+Christopher Adkins I too had a painful nail in the ball of my foot experience in the beginning of my construction career.  It's made me more aware of construction debris and I religiously hammer protruding nails flat when I spot them on my jobs or others'.  I immediately bought a pair of Red Wing boots with a stainless steel sole plate right after my incident to further protect me from future incidents.  I remember the pain in my foot lasting a few months, but the scar tissue that formed I could feel for over a year.  Good luck on the healing process and take it easy!

Congratulations on the 50th podcast episode!
