I've become one of the first Canadian Independent Consultants for Jamberry Nails! Check them out! They're lots of fun and come in tons of fun designs.. plus they have a "nail studio" where you can create your own. Great for showing team support or just having fun! :)

This isn't a "tip", so let me know if I should move this into "Discussions", but it's related to Potty Training so that's why I went here. :)

My daughter is 18 months old. She is VERY interested in the potty. We introduced the concept four months ago but about one month ago I spent a lot of time with her really showing her what it's for and such. She totally gets it and likes using it.

The problem is she doesn't seem to understand yet when she needs to go pee. Not always, anyway. Occasionally, especially if she's having bare-bum time and the potty is nearby, she will go there on her own. Most of the time it's myself or her daycare provider taking her to the potty at certain times to see if she needs to go, which is hit or miss. She still has accidents about 50% of the time. I often catch her starting to go, then she'll stop until I get her onto the potty to finish. There are also other times where she definitely holds it until I get her onto a potty - such as if we're out shopping.

I understand that at 18 months she's probably not quite "there" yet for the concept of understanding when she has to pee and letting someone know she needs to go. However, that said, I know she is totally into the process and likes using the potty. I've heard of others between 18-24 months starting to understand when they have to pee. I know every kid's different and develop differently, but since my daughter understands every OTHER part of the process (and wants to do it), I was hoping someone may have some advice on how to help her learn when she needs to go and to let us know. She doesn't use a ton of words yet but she does use some and she also uses lots of baby signs - she could easily use a word or a sign if she could just associate them with the need to go pee.
