Introduction. I've been interested in looking at the information contained in credit cards ever since I first heard about the Square card reader. The idea of such a tiny device being able to parse all the information on a credit card directly into your phone is fascinating to me and I wanted to ...

Last Wednesday, my life changed forever. I got an iPhone. I consider it the greatest thing to happen to the blind for a very long time, possibly ever. It

The iPhone was, and still is a game changer in so many different ways.

This is what happens to you if you don't pay attention: hated by the blind! Don't be That Guy!

I know we're all on board here at +Web Accessibility , but this is a great scare tactic to use on your boss :)

NEW PRODUCT – NTSC/PAL (Television) Video Glasses
http://www.adafruit.com/products/1452

NEW PRODUCT – NTSC/PAL (Television) Video Glasses – You are from the future with these futuristic video glasses. Or at least, an 80′s version of the future. Wearing these turns your vision into what appears to be a 52″ television a few feet away. These are basic video glasses, they do work well, taking standard NTSC/PAL video in and projecting a 320×240 display onto your eyeballs. They’re not terribly comfortable for long term use as they’re a bit heavy, but we think these would be best used for hacking and modification of the the micro display/optics inside.

Comes with video glasses, AV adapter, charger and some removable headphones. Not good for people who require corrective glasses! Best for use by people with contact lenses or good vision. We tested it with a Raspberry Pi and it works great!

More than 100 of the 166 detainees being held at Guantánamo are currently participating in a hunger strike that began back in February. More than 40 of those prisoners are being force-fed, according to the latest word from the U.S. Navy. What does that force-feeding look like? Yasiin Bey—the actor,...

Everyone should read this. It's what your parents (who are also likely divorced) were afraid to tell you for some reason.
The last thing I ever expected out of my otherwise well-planned life was a divorce. I didn't expect my marriage to last just 10 years and to be a single father at 37. Living through the financial impact of divorce has been like watching a tornado destroy what little I had built in my 15 years since finishing college.

Back in March when I took a stab at comparing iOS and Android from the perspective of a blind user, Android 4.1 (a.k.a. Jelly Bean) was nonexistent and no one knew what access features it would offer....

iOS accessibility is world-class, as is macosx and every Mac OS I've used, going back to system 8. My theory is that apple came to be in the age of the ADA. American companies excel at access, Google has to foster an accessibility culture for years. As an advocate in my organization, I know the challenges and wish them luck.
