Saving virtually all companion animals entering US shelters is not just a dream.  It could happen today.  No Kill is a choice, and it is a result of the implementation of proven programs and policies.  What are they?  Check out the No Kill Equation, a list of proven programs and policies that (1) dramatically and rapidly increase live outcomes; and (2) responsibly decrease shelter intake over time.

What a tragic story of a man and his best friend. Breed discrimination is immoral and unethical, and the groups who employ it and advocate for it empower landlords and others to do the same.

Georgetown, Texas, becomes the fifth open-admission shelter in Texas to achieve "No Kill" status for saving over 90% of all impounded pets in 2011. Great job, Georgetown Animal Shelter!

San Antonio, Texas, is taking notes from Austin and aiming towards becoming a No Kill City. From the San Antonio Mayor: "Just 75 miles up the road, they've accomplished that and they're to be congratulated; but there's no reason San Antonio can't do the same thing and we will.”
