Kansas City’s acclaimed, FREE contemporary art museum, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 1994 and draws more than 130,000 visitors each year. The Museum boasts three locations and a rapidly growing permanent collection of modern and contemporary works of artists from around the world. The Museum hosts temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, workshops, and other creative programs.

The art-infused Café Sebastienne offers innovative menu selections by one of Kansas City’s most creative gourmet chefs, Jennifer Maloney. The café is open: lunch 11:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday; dinner 5:30–9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and brunch 11:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Sunday To make reservations, call 816-561-7740 or visit www.kemperart.org

The Museum Shop features one-of-a-kind, handcraft items, as well as exhibition catalogues, art books, notecards, and more.

 Locations and Hours

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, located at 4420 Warwick Blvd. (one block east of 45th and Main Streets), is open 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday; 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., Friday–Saturday; Sunday 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The Museum is closed Monday and major holidays.

Kemper at the Crossroads, located at 33 West 19th Street, is open noon–8:00 p.m., Friday (until 10:00 p.m. on First Fridays); and noon–6:00 p.m., Saturday.

Kemper East, located at 200 East 44th Street, is open 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Tuesday–Friday.
