Just read of YouTube deciding that if you are an indie music label and don't agree to their terms your videos will be removed. They don't want free content to compete with their new subscription service for music. Sorry YouTube I haven't bought music from a major label in the last ten years. So expect a lot of protest videos with language that is not safe for work to start apoearing. Viejo is a better service anyway.

As I become more of a nomad I need to clean out what I have left in my storage unit. I have a few bikes that have to go. One in particular is my Kona Ute. If you reside in So Cal I have a deal for you. A long tail cargo bike for $600. I also have a 29 inch wheeled hard tail mountain bike. Cheap.

All those auto play videos on the social media sites are a plot to force people with smartphones to use more data. I'm seriously thinking of dropping those social media platforms because of it. It seems that even when you say no there are many that sneak through.

I'm in the process of recovering from a marathon driving session.... Van Horn Texas to Temecula, California... basically non stop (except for food, fuel, and potty stops. With all the parks closed along with most of everything I wanted to see, it was time to put the lead foot to use (love the 80 mph speed limits) and head home.

Got all the mail the post office held, and sorted out the important stuff. I'll deal with that on Monday. I also have to find a place to live this winter, too cold at the elevation I'm at now and unless I do something to the shack I'm living in, it isn't going to work.

Now for some much needed sleep.

Should have stopped in Pensacola and looked for a winter haven. Temps and elevation = perfect.

In the week so far, left Maine, visited Braintree Massachusetts, went on a marathon drive to Fredericksburg, VA, , then on to Atlanta Georgia. I then took a short break, and moved on to Pensacola FL. Next day I visited relatives in Mobile Alabama. and now I'm in Van Horn Texas. Next stop is New Mexico, then Arizona and finally back to California (sort of nome).

In the last few months I cut my bicycle collection down to two. Now it will become one. In the process of reworking my bicycle. I virtually gave away my cargo bike (I sold a Kona Ute for $400).  I'm cannibalizing my 26 inch mountain bike and moving the better components to a 29 inch hardtail bike.. I'm also configuring the 29er to be a low tech bike packing machine. It will have Shimano XT derailleurs and a late model Deore crankset. The disk brakes will be Hayes hydraulics. Hope to have this done by July so I can take this bike to the Redwoods of Northern California for a casual ride and bit of bike packing.

I'm living as a nomad right now so one bike is the limit. I'm living in a small travel trailer and moving with the seasons.  And, that bike has to be versatile. Bike packing involves a lot of trails, single track, and forest roads so having a solid 29er as the base works, however it needs to carry a light touring load. Hence this is my plan. We will see how this works out.

The bike is in Temecula CA. I don't think shipping is an option right now.

I'm cleaning out my storage place and have a few bikes to get rid off. I'll put them on Craigslist next week. I have a Kona Ute for $600. That is a bargain.

Seems the House isn't the "people's house anymore as no real jobs bill has come out of it. Seems the Republican controlled house has instead concentrated on giving favors yo the money that makes them richer than 97% of the prople. All the House needs to do is look at their approval rating. How about spending money on infrastructure? That creates jobs. How about cutting waste in the Pentagon? How about going after Wall Street for all the crimes they have committed against the people. What is it when you sit in Congress and collect a farm subsidy? How about making sure we take care of our veterans? I'm tired of all your words... how about you try living like most people do. Cut the pay and benefits of those elected to Congress to be equal to the median income of the a erase American?

Cutting their pay would make the bribes the lobbyists give them even more powerful.
