You see it? It is in #Cholula, cozy town in Central Mexico. Some people think that it is the biggest pyramid in the world. Spaniards thought that it is a hill...they just built this church on its top. Crazy? No - it is #Mexico.

The annual Day of the Dead or All Souls Day festivities kick off with the so-called 'Catrina' parade, a quintessential Mexican custom where participants dress up as a skeleton.

World's most idyllic bomb site: Hidden beach created by giant blast from Mexican government during target practice is now a stunning strip of sand.

With crystal clear waters and sandy beaches, the origins of this idyllic paradise comes as a surprise - it is in fact the world's most picturesque bomb site.
This secluded strip of sand is believed to have formed decades ago when it was used as target practice by the Mexican Government in the early 1900s. But where you might expect to find ruins and devastation, here there is a sensational, deserted beach on the Marieta Islands in Puerto Vallarta.
The Marietas Islands are a Natural Reserve protected by the Mexican Government and in order to visit the hidden beach, visitors must have a permit. To reach the secluded marvel, visitors have to swim through a short tunnel which opens up into spectacular beach. MADE IN OAXACA: ALEBRIJES

The Oaxaca region produces some of the finest handicrafts in #Mexico and two of the most unique and sought after items are black clay pottery and colorful painted animal carvings known locally as #alebrijes.
A favorite Mexican folk art, alebrijes are small animal figurines that are hand-carved from the wood of the copal tree and intricately painted by hand, often with paints made from natural dyes such as pomegranate and huitlacoche (corn fungus), an ingredient you may not be familiar with until you go to Mexico. Translating to "imaginary" or "fantasy", the word alebrije is used to describe the whimsical style of the colorful painted creatures.

One of the best places in Oaxaca where you can experience the art of alebrije making is the village of San Martin Tilcajete, located 23 km outside of #Oaxaca City. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to shop for these beautiful handicrafts during our 9-day "Five Civilizations" tour - http://arminastravel.com/five-civilizations/
