Permanent or Perishable?
2 Samuel 11:26-12:13a     Ephesians 4:1-16     John 6:24-35 Whenever I read these passages that describe Jesus in conversation with a crowd, I must admit that I can’t help but think of it as a little bit like a Monty Python sketch.  I mean no disrespect to ...

Just Who Do You Think You Are?
2 Corinthians 12:2-10      Mark 6:1-13 The last few weeks in the US have been charged with political energy and excited by social change.  News outlets and social media have exploded with those expressing a resistance to change, and with those who plan to m...

Perfected Fruit
Psalm 22:25-31     1 John 4:7-21     John 15:1-8 I have been accused, and probably sometimes quite accurately, of being a perfectionist.  Of course, we are actually a culture of perfectionists who are always trying to reach greater heights.  We go so far as...

Is there something that you disagree with, or do you not understand the point? If it is the later, then the point is that life is hard and people can sometimes make it harder for you by their choices. Sometimes that seems (and is) unfair. Faith in God helps us to see that the difficulties we face are not the things that define us. Our choices come from a belief that we are made for good things and that we make the world better for others through those choices. "Perfected Fruit" is a metaphor for good things coming out of difficult things. Perhaps the idea that God creating diamonds out of coal through immense pressure is a better metaphor. Make sense?

Have fun!
Introduction
I'm a Christian, a husband, a dad, and a Pastor. I think deeply. I love fully. I seek to have fun whatever I may be doing.

Though I am originally from Kennesaw, GA, I've wandered through Richmond and Chester VA and stopped for a spell in Dalton, GA and also Savannah, GA before settling in Lafayette, LA. I am married to an amazing woman who is better than I deserve and we have two kids that teach me about the important stuff in life.

We love the Ballet Studio! The instruction is of exceptional quality. Great care is taken to develop multi faceted dancers with ballet as the core. The enviornment is beautiful, clean, and safe, and the community of families is welcoming. This is not the place to come and impress others. It is a place to learn, to grow, and to reach your potential. If none of this were true, I'd still be won over by one thing. When I asked my daughter out of the blue to name someone she admires after school the other day she said, "Mrs. Beverly." Nuff said.
