Good stuff! Here's why: * Excellent food * Great energy in the joint * Lori's company :-) * The service was a little over zealous We shared a "spoon sampler" appetizer ($14 bucks), she had chicken tacos, and I had another spoon sampler. Mix in some cocktails, wine, and good conversation with a gorgeous woman and it was a memorable evening. I will back! Great food, not as pricey as you would think. Make sure you do not sit in the tables leading up to the service station like I did. Cabeza OUT!

Great overall value! Enjoyed the outdoor seating with a fairly standard mojito (happy hour starts at the bar at 4pm on weekdays) and the restaurant's special Cuban seafood chowder dish ($22). The chowder was amazing and well priced for the large portion, excellent flavors, and fresh seafood. Highly recommended for curry lovers. Originally planned to try the ample ceviche menu, but the chowder was more than filling for one person! Would love to revisit to get the ceviche sampler (choice of 6 ceviches for $14). Overall, a very good experience bearing repetition.

Jaguar in Coconut Grove is a great concept and suffers from a typical Miami problem. Great food, poor service and exorbitant prices. I went with two coworkers to have dinner and drinks. I suppose I should give some background, Jaguar, is a ceviche restaurant. What is ceviche you ask? In its most simple form its nothing more then fish that has been cooked in lime/lemon juice. We ordered the sample to try the very best they had to offer. Six spoons with one bite of civiche came out each very unique and a masterwork on a spoon. Each offered a different take on the classic offering and was a pleasant meal to be sure. Our server was attentive if not a bit busy. This isn't his fault and he can't be blamed for it but it was noticed. The place was full but not jammed and the décor was a bit scattered. Seating is both inside and outside, we opted for inside, and were greeted by chips and (cheap) salsa very quickly. The drinks were a bit sweet for me, and under poured. That being the case we ordered 9 of them between 3 people so I suppose it couldn't have been all bad. A few more dishes to pass between all of us, (swordfish kabobs mostly) and a free dessert spoon (nothing impressive) and we were done with our meal. I picked up the bill for the whole table and we came in at just under $200. I was a bit shocked but hey this is Miami. Three Stars because the prices are bit high for the product. There isn't really any feeling of getting to know and recommend to guests what that might want to try if this was their first visit. The few gaps in service were noticed but didn't ruin the meal. Go for something new, and make sure you take someone who knows what their doing, otherwise You'll be disappointed when your order and get a bit of fish with lime juice on a spoon for dinner.
