Wishes/Like to have: But no one seems to be addressing them: 1. Bike w/opening for leg to slide in to opposite side due to handicap situation. 2. Individual earphone plug in for personal TV/music hearing vs music too loud and multiple screens on silent. 3. More assistance on proper individual use of equipment and body areas they apply to, excluding treadmill and existing bikes with high intersection, yuck !!! 4. Upper torso/arm bike w/seat -- for standing or seating. 5. Regular 'high ceiling' area monthly cleaning 0 This is a health club group - yes? 6. Better web site, that is user friendly !!! 7. A in the wall shelf on both sides of the pool for the instructors equipment and possibly electrical plugs to accommodate same. Maybe about 6 feet from floor. Electrical cabling could come down from ceiling versus along the wall for better safety and possibly state acceptance when inspectors agree to agree !!! 8. Better method for working with PTs and spiffs due to membership longevity - Possibly 3-4 times a year for opportunity to take "40 - 1/2 hr Offer @ $23 per 1/2 hr" versus $25/ 1/2 hr for a discount of $60.00 or $920.00 with full payment and no refund. I'm rather stuck with no PT and had 5 sessions remaining.? Marketing contact method: initially a 1 week advance notice to email and electronic pay. Then posted at Club for a 2-week period with 6/month full pay club membership. Trust I will hear something about one of the 8 elements listed previously. cft

Overall, I believe that the Gym in Hershey/Hummelstown is a very good place to workout. Do I believe that the Gym is perfect? No. The Gym is currently in a restoration. The Men's Locker Room was redone. They did have a problem with the Pool. They seemed to have that fixed. They are doing a better job in maintaining and repairing broken equipment. I would like to see more lockers and benches in the Men's Locker Room. I would like to see a chart of when the Locker Room was last cleaned, like Wal-Mart. There are other areas that I do not use that other reviewers found not up to their standards. I cannot comment on those areas. I hope that the Gym see these other bad reviews and make an effort to address them.

I have gone to this gym for three years now. While I would traditionally rate the gym as "Fair" it has truly taken a turn for the worse over the last year in particular. Below are my five frustrations with this gym: -The gym is dirty. They do a great job vacuuming, but I have never seen any staff wiping/cleaning the machines. For example, there is mold around the water fountain and extensive dust in the rafters. All of the workout benches have a patch of grease where individuals place their heads. -Broken items. While it should be assumed that the wear and tear of items in a gym is going to result in needed repairs, machines will be out of order for months at a time. As mentioned by others the pool is consistently in repair. At this moment an entire room is closed in the gym because of ceiling issues for an indefinite amount of time. Several televisions were hooked up improperly about a year ago to the "Gold's Gym Network," each of these has a yellow choppy screen. -The Staff. The staff at the gym are very friendly, but they fail to display the professionalism one would expect. They often are clearly displaying flirtatious behavior with the clientele. I have seen staff go into closets with members and I can only speculate as to the actions going on. Rarely are the staff even at the front desk paying attention, you could likely walk in without signing and check the place out for yourself. -Useless signage. There is a sign that reads "Staff Only" which leads behind the counter at the entrance, clearly this is irrelevant as members consistently go behind the counter and engage in raucous behavior. The staff at one point placed signs throughout the gym warning members that if they failed to put away their free weights, they would loose their "membership privileges." First, I do not consider my membership there a privilege. Second, rarely do individuals put away weights as clearly these are baseless threats to members. -The Members. While the majority of the gym members are fine, there is a group of individuals who feel that they own the space of the gym. This group of roughly twenty individuals, mostly consisting of men in their late 30s through 50s, are loud and inappropriate. They will use foul language, not only in front of, but often with staff. They will lift weights to display their manhood, shouting and grunting through the process as their voices echo through the dusty gym. Some of the ladies in this posse feel that it is appropriate to only wear shorts and a sports bra. While some of this cultural display is to be expected within a gym setting, it is clearly at an uncomfortable level. The challenges above have reached new levels over the past few months, which is why I am leaving. This is frustrating because the Harrisburg Gold's Gym, under the same owner, is much cleaner and professional. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere, as I would give this gym a rating of "Poor."

Gold's gym is by far the worst place to go to. Although it has more things than other gyms. They charged us twice a month, for upkeep of the gym and for using the gym. We were suppose to pay 29.00 and they were taking out much more than that.. to terminate we would either have to move or show prove of medical condition. This is very upsetting. Not satisfied with them at all. Please people watch your money and go else where...This place is not worth it!

I've been going here for a month or so and I've been pretty pleased. The place is pretty packed around 5PM as you would expect. I agree that the staff are nice but pretty uninvolved with whats going on. I wish the fans there were blowing a bit more, you can feel a slight breeze while you're working out but when there are a lot of people in there I don't feel like it's enough circulation. Someone mentioned about a lot of shennanigans going on or whatever and I do NOT see that. I see people working out and staff members hanging out by the front desk. I've had a pleasant experience so far and I'll continue to go there.

I like the layout of the gym. They have a good assortment of machines and free weights. There are four different areas for cardio so there usually isn't a wait even when it's busy. The water fountains have never been broken since I've been a member.

Very Dirty. Fans in Movie room have layers of dust on them. Lady workout area is filthy, and needs a paint job. The pool is almost always in need of repair and the saunas have not been working for months. The people that go to this gym almost NEVER wipe the machines down! Pretty Disgusting!

#health and #fitness tip for vacationing:
Watch out for jet-lag. Adjusting to a new time zone might make you hungry at odd hours. Resist the urge to snack at 4 a.m. and wait for normal meal times instead (or choose a healthy snack, like a handful of nuts, to tide you over).
