Delbert Tibbs was a poet, with several published pieces in magazines and books. Pete Seeger put a few lines of his poems into a song titled "Delbert Tibbs." At that time he was dedicating the song to a young black man serving a death sentence for the 1994 murder of a white woman at the Raiford State Prison in Starke, Florida. Here's a version of that song I edited from an hour long podcast by the Florida Folklife Collection and the State Archives of Florida. R.I.P. Delbert.

Story
Introduction
Hooman Hedayati is a rocket scientist at NASA where he supervises top secret government space projects. Hooman Hedayati is also a professor of economics and a fellow at UT Austin where he heads departments of Biology, Geology, Anthropology, Apology and all the other departments that end with “ology.” He is on the boards of directors of multiple multinational companies. In his spare time, Hooman advises world leaders such as George W. and Tony Blair on world affairs and foreign policy. Well, that’s what his mom thinks.

In reality, Hooman Hedayati works for a plasma television manufacturer as a plasma donor. Prior to that, Hedayati worked at a sperm bank as a sperm donor. He was subsequently terminated after numerous complaints from customers about the low quality of the sperm. Many of the infants were returned for a refund.
Hedayati is currently interviewing with a start-up pharmaceutical company in India for a position as junior suppository testing specialist. A master's degree in political science from the University of Bora-Bora helped land Hedayati a career at a branch of a prestigious Fortune 500 firm called McDonald’s.

Hooman Hedayati, a militant nudist Buddhist and according to the Playgirl magazine "the sexiest Middle Eastern man alive since Yasser Arafat," has devoted his entire life to organizing support groups for men with hideous circumcisions. He also heads a nonprofit organization called, “Middle Eastern men for better body hair removal products.” Hooman has traveled the world looking for the answer to the most fundamental question asked by every man: where the heck is the remote control?

Purchased a Living Social deal as a gift for mother's day and came to regret that decision upon hearing my mom's horrifying experience dealing with this place. My mom called to schedule an appointment on February, which was more than two months in advance of the April expiration date. She was told that there were no open slots for the next 5 weeks to book her for and that she should call back later in a few weeks. Mom calls again couple of weeks later and is told the same thing. Calls a third time, surprise, surprise, same answer! She explains that the expiration date is coming up in 2 weeks and that she has been attempting to schedule an appointment for the past 7 weeks. The receptionist assures my mom that since she has been attempting to place an appointment and that they are aware of her having called numerous times before they will honor the Living Social deal even after it expires. Fast forward 3 weeks later, mom calls to try to schedule an appointment again and this time is told that the deal has expired. She explains that she is aware of that fact and attempts to explain the situation. But to her surprise the lady on the other end, named Cheryl, simply refuses to schedule an appointment because the deal has expired. But the worst part of this ordeal is not the fact that she rather rudely tells my mom that she doesn't have the time to speak to her anymore, but that she questions my mom on why she waited until two months prior to the expiration date to schedule an appointment. Are you kidding me? What type of business are you running that requires 2-6 months advance request for appointments? More importantly, who are you to interrogate a customer on why they didn't attempt to get an appointment earlier? My mom, infuriated by this point, says that she will call later to talk to the owner. Three days later my mom calls back and requests to speak to the owner, who turns out to be even less professional than the first lady she spoke to. He flat out refuses to listen to my mom's side of things and just hangs up. Since then we have contacted Living Social and have been refunded the original value. Additionally, we recommended Living Social to stop doing business with this establishment (if you can even call it that). Frankly, I'm not even surprised to find that dozens of other people had a similar, if not worse, experience than my mom. I just wish I had read these reviews prior to purchasing the deal. Lastly the response of the owner to the negative reviews is itself further evidence to the unprofessional management of this business. Any self-respecting business owner would apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused and would try to remedy the situation. But this guy only berates his potential customers and tries to push all blame onto others. Be warned, the negative reviews speak for themselves.
